Voles for me. My whole garden is an undermined maze. If you dib a hole most places you'll just stab straight into a tunnel 🤷♂️ 🤦♂️
@valdisandersons129Ай бұрын
It’s blackbirds and magpies with a hefty dose of giant slugs in my garden. Though I think the blackbirds are keeping the snails and slugs in check and the magpies are chasing any and all other birds away.
@echognomecal6742Ай бұрын
The groundhogs & bunnies have joined forces by me. *sigh Idk what's going after the tomatoes...chipmunks, squirrels, birds...maybe all of them. This year's been a battle! Good luck everyone!
@FaceEatingOwlАй бұрын
@@echognomecal6742 Hi, I'm not sure on the veracity, but I've been told that if you get holes pecked in your tomatoes, it's birds looking for water. If you make sure there is a place for them to drink, apparently they aren't as interested in the tommies. 🤷♂️ Worth a try.

Also on chalk and facing its challenges, also have an abundance of snails & slugs. It’s the pidgeons that eat the cherries (on an ornamental, so not so bothered), the snails and slugs eat everything else.

One day my neighbor on the allotment found a snail 🐌 with a number on it 🐌🤔 😅 and he was showing it to his wife and then another neighbor was calling and saying:"that's mine". 😂 So he got 5 snails 🐌 🐌🐌🐌🐌 and put numbers on it and number 5 🐌 made it to my neighbors garden 300 m away from the other ones garden 🐌🤣

What a fabulous garden. I only have a small garden and slugs and snails can totally decimate the small amount of crops you can grow. I generally use raised beds and pots, but those pests still manage to get in

Wonderful roof garden (with snails)! I got two really helpful natural remedies for the slugs and snails: 1. I have a hedgehog around due to a little waterbowl for birds etc, and a little wooden hegehog house. The crunch the snails and slugs. 2. I place some juniper branches around the kale which is not a favorit among those crawling ones. And have a look with a torch in the evening 🤩

The reason you don’t see more of this is because (not everyone is a carpenter) permitted development doesn’t allow for a balcony/second floor etc, which means you have to apply for planning permission. That means you need to comply with relevant regulations etc and it’s way too expensive for the space you get from it
@robertgreatsinger9179Ай бұрын
How harsh or heavy does your snow get ?
@hevchip741Ай бұрын
In England we have very little snow, just a few inches for a few days in the winter in Northern areas. South gets a sprinkling so.e years, not like it use to be when I was a kid.
@Dirt-FermerАй бұрын
In high snow areas I assume you would need a sharper angle or raised bed chimney like structure with deep root space
