It in no way was intended to be a critic of the young adult who scientifically cannot be held to the same standard as an adult considering his brain is still developing. In the spirit of growth and my attempt to convey my opinion I will share with you the implication. By allowing his flesh and blood son to speak on his behalf, it is implied his son is speaking through him. The young man that is upset with Coach Sanders is coping with the fact his football career is over. That is a tough pill for anyone to swallow. I feel for him. He is going through a natural process and later have the ability to introspectively analyze what occurred and the people who I have coached and transitioned into successful adults as neurosurgeons, F15 Fighter Pilots, prolific educators, Army Rangers, relatively well know sports reporters etc. have used their experience in competitive sports and its inevitable end to drive decisions in their future competitive endeavors. In my humble opinion … I aim to coach young men to become adults that happened to play the sport I was coaching. I’ve had many players who couldn’t compete at the level I was coaching … I’ve had a few that played professionally. I don’t stop with anyone I coached if they openly welcome my insight. The pros never need my help in X’s and O’s and the ones whose career ended with me will likely never need to know about X’s and O’s. My biggest concern is how they do the second their shoe hits the ground as an adult. To me, them doing well in “the wild” is more important than excelling in sports and my biggest concern is their transition. This is very important to understand, I can’t tell you for certain if the environment Coach Sanders has created is toxic or not based on the known significant explanatory variables. However, the fact that this is the way Coach Sanders has allowed it to get here and to my Knowledge he hasn’t issued a statement or squashed this yet. That’s the issue I have. This is on the coach and I hope he makes it right. I hope this cleared up any confusion. I will be happy to continue the discussion with you and will be happy to hear feedback especially if you disagree with anything I said. I am open to growth and understand that I am not infallible. I clearly made the miscalculation of thinking the implication was clear which in fact it wasn’t. I apologize for that. If I was a young adult I am certain I would not have understood the implication here which makes it unfair of me to assume any young adult would.

I really think this is only news because it’s Colorado and coach prime. I had to go research this guy because I didn’t know too much about it. Looks like he was redshirted his 1 year at CU and then transferred and played his freshman season. People transfer all the time because they got redshirted and didn’t get playing time. When has there ever been this much coverage for a redshirt freshman transferring?
