And above all else, she is a team player who is not seeking self glory.

Reece is a villain too though. As are multiple MALE sports analysts who throw pure hate at Caitlin. And most of them are black, which I'm sure is a total coincidence and not part of a larger pattern of how a specific race in America REALLY hates another specific race in America. And that pattern isn't at all related to why Caitlin gets all this hate, I'm sure. Just a bunch of coincidences. Or "nuance" as Acho like to put it. Or "isolated incidents" as Joy likes to put it. I was following all her games and I've never been interested in womens bball before. How did I even know about her? Clark was already a national star before that championship game. "Viewership of the tournament was up by 42% year-over-year. With significant attention towards Iowa player Caitlin Clark, the Iowa/South Carolina semi-final game was seen by an average of 5.5 million viewers-making it the highest-rated Women's Final Four telecast in ESPN history.[16] These numbers would be surpassed by the national championship game, which was seen by an average of 9.9 million viewers, and peaked at 12.6 million-making it the most-watched women's college basketball game of all-time.[17] It was a 103% increase over the previous year's championship game, which was carried by ESPN in primetime.[15]"

From my pov, Joy is emblematic of the majority of black and mixed race women that are siding with team black no matter what. That bias is the only explanation I can come up with for why they are ignoring blatantly obvious evidence to the contrary and in some cases defending the after the whistle cheap shot. Notice that none of these people making light of the situation say a thing about Reese emphatically celebrating the hit as it happened or the joyous high 5 celebration between Reese and Kennedy as they returned to their bench during the timeout (to then be chastised by their coach Teresa Witherspoon). That just gets ignored as if it didn’t happen as part of their hypocrisy, cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias.

Look at all the previous winners of college championships, have they moved the needle in terms of womens basketball popularity like clark? The reason is because Clark is unique, nobody shoots 3’s from the logo like clark does, like steph, Ppl love that cuz its crazy. but shes only done that in college so far, it may not translate to the wnba. Now reese might end up being a better wnba player than clark because clark is too slow in the wnba. Reese is bigger and more athleticb

@@kimmythequeen7611 ok so they have to move venues vs the mystics because the mystics stadium holds a measly 4000 fans. That’s a below average sized professional gym. How come the home games for the sky don’t have to be moved? Because no ones wants to watch angel Reese miss open lay ups she’s not even the best on her team. She’s not that good, she does nothing special and if I wanted to see a talent post player I’d just watch Aja Wilson. We already know Indiana fever games are sold out and have more viewers. All of Indiana fever games are top in the league in terms of viewership. Chicago sky games that are televised don’t even compare to the Indiana fever viewership.

@@lowery27 meesley? Alright! That’s that with Mystics arena but I do believe that the Capital One arena is the home of the Wizards and that the arena in size is comparable to majority of the other nba arena’s. Matter of fact, it’s number 3 for the biggest nba arena’s in the United States next to (1) United Center and (2) Welks Fargo. This is not just happening with the mystics. It’s happening for Chicago away games. Again, Reese was not drafted for buckets. She was drafted for rebounds, assists, and steels. She is currently the 3rd woman in wnba rookie history with the most offensive rebounds and soon will be number 1. Chicago has shooters. Clark needs an Angel Reese. Let’s not ignore the fact that Clark is not connecting with her teammates. How many points did Clark make in that game? Clark herself complained that her teammates are not catching the ball and is not getting the ball to her for her sets. Reese has been drafted to team up with Kamilla who was her rival. They’re now so connected that you can’t even believe that they were rivals. Angel is not as good as Clark but she can connect a team which will translate into wins and Championships later and that has been proven with LSU. It’s a team sport not an individual sport. A team with the right ingredients just cooking towards perfection.
