Bad coaching throughout the game for the Buffs. Going for it on 4th early in the game on your half of the field. Throwing the ball at late in the 4th with two score lead, defense looked lost at times, not lining up on time, players out of position, blown assignments, guys going for the Int. With two ticks in the clock and all you need is to bat it down. Lack of discipline and focus. Luckily this FcS QB couldn’t make the ball into the end zone otherwise it would have been Bison’s over the Buffs!

I saw most of the same issues from last season honestly. Lack of pass rush, defense couldn't get off the field on 3rd down, bad penalties at inopportune times, couldn't run the ball very well, couldn't pick up a 1st down on 4th and short. That said, a W is a W. The run defense is much improved. The pass protection was spotty, but miles better than last season. Sheduer is a magician with that extra time. Travis is on Heisman watch. Jimmy was unreal. Lavonta Bentley looks like a bonafide stud. They will need to play WAY better to get a dub on the road in Lincoln next week. I hope they get some things cleaned up.

Positives: -We're definitely more talented -D line is much better -O line is better -WR core is amazing -We're solid at CB this year on both sides -Run D is alot better Negatives: -Safety and LB are liabilities in pass coverage -Lack of defensive adjustments (staying in man the whole game) -Lineups Charlie shouldn't be starting. We have 3 to 4 better rb's on the roster. I love Charlie like everyone else but Prime has to stop playing politics in that situation. -Trevor Woods. He's too slow. You would think since he was a safety coverage playing lb would be his strong point because he isn't a run stopper. -Shiloh. He's too slow. He's wrapping up this year thankfully. He's a 6yr Senior making stupid penalties at critical times(no excuse for that) he needs to kive in the film room with him being sllow for his position he needs to be able to anticipate plays. Is it me or does he not seem like he hits the weight room like he wants to go to the nfl. He doesn't have a nfl body. -Lack of TE usage -No plays under center (especially for run plays) -Sheduer has to get better with the deep ball. He tends to underthrow his receivers

Even as a fan, you have to evaluate the game objectively. I'm a huge Prime, Shedeur, Travis, Jimmy saved the team. I love Neely but he does need a little more objectivity. This isn't really about style points. It was a sloppy game that against an FBS team could've easily been a loss. Penalties didn't help, clock management didn't help. They need to go back to the drawing board and make some personnel changes. Shedeur only got sacked once but he got hit numerous times. BTW, the refs were OK - but the hold on Travis was right in front of the ref and the guy didn't do a thing - dude the guy has his arms around Travis' waist - I think that's battery in most states. I think Travis is part AI and part human. I still believe that this team has the potential to be excellent. The Nebraska game will be a good test in terms of coaching and execution. Running screen plays instead of simply running the gd ball. Multiple times inside the 5yd line and still lining up under shotgun. Why is this team so against having an under center set to give these running backs a chance? Why do they make it so much more difficult on themselves to end a game. You can see Dallan Hayden visibly pissed with these play calls and I don’t blame him at all. That’s poor coaching. I give our guys credit as we made adjustments in the second half and played much better but still; not a great performance by the D-Line. At the end of the day it was a win, and a win is a win. As far as 1st games go, it served it’s purpose. It exposed any weaknesses that could have a negative effect on the game. Things like timing and rhythm, which can only be evaluated accurately by actually playing a game against another team. Now, it’s back to the lab, tweak where necessary and on to the next game. For those that expected a blow out win; well, sorry, the level of your expectations have nothing to do with the results. After all, some expected us to lose. Any “fan” who expects this or any other team to play a perfect game every game is being unrealistic and will be in for a very disappointing season. IMO, we need to manage our expectations and let the team write their own story with every game being another chapter, and the end of the season being the FINALE ending with a championship. Lastly, let the people paid to coach, coach. They’re the only one’s that have the actual wide angle view of what’s really going on on the field.

Can't just play backyard football and expect to win. Need more plays with the tight end and even some two tight end sets. - Shedeur is still holding the ball too long! - Run the clock out when you can to end the game. No excuse for that dumb throw with 1:50 on the clock. - Give Travis a damn break on offense and defense, otherwise, he won't make it through the season. - Everyone need to humble themselves and accept criticism, even Coach Prime! - Y'all looked unprepared and immature.

This team is going to be bad. Couldn't run with a numbers advantage vs 2 high safeties. Can't get pass rush with 4 or 5. Got run on with a numbers advantage in the box. Lucky they played FCS caliber athletes, I see the only other win coming against Colorado State. Travis is amazing as usual, Jimmy Horn is NFL caliber even with the drop. Hayes is a solid player. McNeil was only disruptive interior linemen. Coaching decisions were horrible, throwing the ball at the end of the game.

Man STFU! Some of you fake “football analysts” kill me. It’s the first game! They were predicted to lose and won despite playing a good team with an awesome QB. Talking about they’re going to be bad. Not as bad as your wife. 😂

Sheduer checked to it... It really wasn't a bad decision. They were in cover 0 and the pass was open, he just underthrew it.

Linebacker is another weak spot. Travis Woods can't cover out of the backfield. He got smoked on that first drive.
@ThreadAndCircuses12 ай бұрын
@@Gilly-o6w That was a dumb decision, also, throwing on third down was also dumb, if the pass was tipped or dropped, NDSU would have had 1:30 seconds to drive the ball down the field
@PNice-ox6ei2 ай бұрын
The fellas….whew! Much closer than it should’ve been! No disrespect to NDSU but we’ve got ALOT of work to do!! The O-Line is still not there!! I’m the biggest Buffs fan but I gotta call it like I see it. There was no push in the run game; Khalil & Justin were way to high in the run plays with no leverage or push. Zalinkas was bullied a lot , granted they allowed only 1 sack but we are fooling ourselves if we think this type of offensive imbalance will translate to success. It may take having to shuffle up the O-Line some more but if we can’t get more from the running game we won’t win more than 5 games this year. Also; the D-Line; that first half what was that? Where was the push from our D-Tackles? Again; I’m happy with the win but if we don’t make the adjustments and get our run game on track it’s gonna be an up and down long season.
@Gilly-o6w2 ай бұрын
I totally disagree, sheduer had way more time than last year. And there were holes for the run game. There were several times that the rb was one tackle break from a big play. I think if they stop playing so much from the gun, the run game will improve.
@PNice-ox6ei2 ай бұрын
@Gilly-o6w; you’re entitled to your opinion but could’ve, should’ve and would’ves aren’t measurables. Men and women lie; numbers don’t! If you think we’re gonna win playing FBS Caliber teams rushing 59 yards then you’re itching for a replay of last season.🤦🏽♂️

It’s just the first game of the season; so I’ll try not to be too hard on them. The defense made some decent adjustments from the 1st to 2nd half. Shedeur and Travis were Shedeur and Travis 💯🔥. Great game for Jimmy 👏🏾🔥. However, as good as NDSU was - it’s about to get a WHOLE LOT tougher. And I’ve seen TOO MANY reminisces of last year’s team…. IN GAME ONE!😳🤦🏽♂️ Coach D. Lew is about to shine his shoes in somebody’s hind-pockets. 😂 If CU can’t make the right adjustments; personal-wise, play-wise, etc. - then it’s gonna be a LOOOONG season. So come on Buffs. Because the LAST thing I want is to have to listen to these hateful trolls this year. 😌🙏🏾💪🏾💯❤️🔥🔥 #SkoBuffs

Wrong, this is the easiest schedule CU has played in at least 15 years, the Big 12 is not even as tough as the Pac 12 was.
@cliffordsmith4282 ай бұрын
@@deerobinson557 You’re not wrong. But if games are gonna be this close, in a perceived weaker conference; and the Buffs (defense) is starting out looking like this - undisciplined, missed assignments, etc - then it’s gonna be a long season. I’m riding with them until the wheels fall off; however, I won’t allow myself to become so emotionally charged that I’m not able to think rationally about their performance. They need to do better.

love you all and all the content,,,,but we have to be truthful in times like this lol.....the convo and the agreeing with shadeur throwing and giving the team another chance is literally what gets coaches fired in the NFL. it also shows the mediocrity of the team and underscores the team being undisciplined in many other facets of the game. its BS, you run no matter what. we cant just be sheep lol also dont mention the guy trying to catch the ball at the EOG.... indefensible. when we lose 8 games in a row, these reasons are gonna be crucial

I’m rooting for Colorado but Travis shouldn’t be playing every down on offense, idc how good he is. Conserve his energy and get other players involved. You could have easily played a TE with a 3 wide receiver set and got the running game going more.

@natthaphonnoble2407Ай бұрын
I am still wondering how shedeur will translate into the NFL. He does hold the ball a long time, very similar to Russ he sometimes causes his own pressure, takes unnecessary sacks. NFL you half to make quick decisions and get rid of it quick and accurately. Some of his balls are not always accurate but right now he can get away with it. I am a huge Buffs fan NOT a hater but I’m just noticing some tendencies that might cause him problems in the NFL.

Here's one IF for you.....if the refs would have been better; you probably lose this game.
