I like the way she sings very much. なんだけど、バーブラ・ストライサンドよりも優れていると言えば、誉めすぎでしょう。 シーナ・イーストンは、バラードシンガーとして一流なのは分かります。 声質は、軽やかでクリアーなハイトーンの tight throat (硬い喉)と誰かが呼んだものですが、バーブラ・ストライサンドのようなハミングだけでもドラマチックな底知れぬ表現力を持つような声ではないように思えます。The Way We Were が丁度そんな曲だと思うのです。 これに対して、シーナ・イーストンの声質は、For Your Eyes Only のような曲では素晴らしい力強さとエレガントさを表現しています。 この曲に関しては、もちろん素晴らしいのですが、シーナの声が、やや甲高いと感じるかも知れません。 個人的には、シーナは大好きなタイプの歌手ですから、余計に過大評価は控えたいと思うのです。
