My husband was a single father. He knew his son had lied to him. He waited a few days and lied to his son, knowing his son would find out. When his son found out, he cried. His dad sat him down and asked, “knowing that I had lied to you, made you question everything I’ve ever told you, didn’t it?” His son, weeping, said, “yes, it does”. His father said, “that was exactly why I did it. To show you that when you lied to me, it broke my trust in you and it makes me question everything you ever said or will say to me in the future.” They hugged, his son apologized and to our knowledge, he’s never lied to his father again. Such a defining moment in their relationship. His son is 26 today and lives on the other side of the country in the Navy. They have a weekly conversation every Saturday morning for hours. Taking hikes, riding bikes, etc while talking w ear buds. They have such a beautiful relationship. I have three adult children and my husband is so good to my children and has loved them as his own. All four of our adult children are very different yet very successful and great adults.

I’ve no idea of your origins - but Trid reminds me of my father whose family fled Iran and he was raised in Bombay (as it was called back then) and my dads maths skills were exemplary like Trid unbelievable for us westerners to comprehend but true 🙏🥰

So your dad is zoarastrian. A "parsi" in bombay...a beautiful, industrious community of people.. i have heard. No wonder his maths skills are exemplary. That generation of people is something else entirely, a level our generation can't match. My dad is amazing at maths too. 😊😊(i am an indian)

Wrong info on women having to stay outside. It's mainly because in older days, women had to do all the chores and basically it was male dominated society so this rule that they can't enter temple and kitchen (because we indians worship food) was basically to give them rest as they already are in pain for those 4-5 days and doing chores would a bit too much stress on the body. Most of historical/older generation stuff has some scientific or logical reasoning

Sorry I have to unfollow you today I never wanted to miss your podcast, but you reminds me of her. It just brings back all the memories but also just makes me weak. Keep spending the smile thank you Sheena and trid
@hirsanchaniya39095 ай бұрын
They were not sent in different section of the house because women were considered to be dirty. But because, people believed that women should rest and refrain from all of the work because they are losing liters of blood. And there are mood swings and pain and nausea and so much more that comes with it. And as for the temples, they were not allowed in because temples are full of positive energy or energy at high frequency which could really mess up women's cycle. You can go in after your 3rd day though or before it too. It doesn't really matter. It's your choice. But these were put in betterment of women. People over the years twisted this.
@rosphere43325 ай бұрын
even if this is the reason behind it, to a large extent even today in villages it doesnt hold true. women are considered dirty during their cycles and kept from the kitchen and temples because they will "ruin their purity". you are speaking from a very idealistic perspective that is not how people approach periods in india.
@cleanserene63305 ай бұрын
Men putting limits on women's behavior "for their own good" is the motto of the Patriarchy lol. Don't forget to send a thank you note!
@hirsanchaniya39093 ай бұрын
@@rosphere4332 exactly my point. People in India have ruined it and made it a sign of weakness which it is not. And it is really unfortunate I totally agree with you

This podcast about the children with the kid's names feels wildly inappropriate. Sorry, this gives me the ick, huge. What if their friends come across this podcast. 😩 I like the other podcasts that focus not on the children. Just looking out for them. Or maybe use not their real names next time? But maybe that doesn't matter because only Trid blocks out his face. So their friends would totally recognize the mother.
