Thank you for giving us the Freeport bite! I live an hour and 20 away so it's good to know what and when they are biting so when I do go I at least know what to look for before I begin the trip.

Nice video. I never had any luck fishing the jetties. Did you know that the large square stones you were standing on are supposed be the pink granite stones that were left over from building the state capital building. They were brought down and used to build the jetties at the Port of Freeport. When the harbor entrance was widened and deepened they jetties were move and the concrete center was poured with the original pink granite stone placed along the sides. This allowed them to lengthen the jetties. Just an interesting historical note about the Freeport Jetties.

Wow I had no clue! All I ever heard from my dad was that the jetties used to be way smaller and narrower that it was incredible hard to get out there.

Thank you for your video. Btw, One of my friends is worrying about the water pollution around this area because there are so many manufacturers. And he discovered the bad things in the body of crab. Do you think we do not need to worry about it?

@@cn1fishYesterday I visited south jetty in freeport. I never got the sign of biting from sheepy. Instead of them, mosquitoes bites a lot 😅. The season seems like end, no?

They’ll always be there. The bite is a lot slower now. Luckily some trout are starting to show. It’s still slow due to the rough windy conditions

@@cn1fish Until April, it has been so difficult to catch sheepshead in every jetty. Thank you for your kind reply.

The concern of pollution from the chemical plants in the Freeport area is misplaced. Every outfall, drainage ditch, or other discharge from the plants into any waterway are monitored by multiple state and federal environmental agencies and any contaminate found cost the plant hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines and can also cause one or more parts of the plant to be shut down to find the source of the contaminate leak which would cost the company millions. No, any pollution found in that area would be coming from the cities.
