I had a feeling she would enjoy shooting the Walther. I always carried it with the 7 rd mag in it until i got the 8rd mag. it was my first gun when I started carrying. here in Indiana, we are allowed to do private sales. I’ve been carrying the Walther PPS M1 for nearly a decade. The best handling and shooting little gun I’ve experienced. I shoot it as accurately and quickly as service pistols. I have both .40 & 9 and shoot them very comparably. That’s testament to the quality and engineering. Because it was engineered to handle .40, like the Shield and XDS, the 9 versions shoot so easily. There is a little extra weight, which, as Stav demonstrates, is manageable even for smol ladies. When I hear grown men complaining about a couple of ounces, or snappy recoil, I have to show them Stav’s videos. She carries and shoots as much gun as many of them, but with fewer complaints. She has a great attitude and Mac helps her maximize her aptitude. What a great couple!

Years ago, when single stack 9mms were all the rage, I retired my G26, which I could never carry comfortably IWB, for both the Kahr PM9 & Walther PPS M1. I loved both guns & was surgically accurate with both. After jumping back into the CC market about a year ago, I settled on the Shield Plus in 9mm over the Sig P365 & Glock 43X. These new micro-carry 9s have essentially made single-stack 9s obsolete…..although both the PM9 & PPS will always retain a sentimental place in my heart.

Very cool idea with the episodes. It’s so refreshing getting a woman’s opinion, in my opinion 😂😂😂😂😂. Most people talk a great game, but end up leaving there gun at home. I pocket carry so I never have a reason not to have it. I carry a cheap 22 from Phoenix Arms. No it’s not the best, nor would it be for a novice. After you do the necessary mods, I just can’t get it to jam at all. I can’t keep it chambered, per the manual, but it’s a lil guy. And I roll with a extra mag. It’s about shot placement and just showing up armed. I pray I never have to use it. Great channel btw!!!!!

I bought my first Glock in 1992, a G17. I now have a G19, G26, G43, G42. I not a "Glock fanboy" but at a very practical level they work well. I can pick up any of my Glocks and they feel and shoot very similar. I am use to the Glock grip angle and trigger. I don't need a gunsmith and can replace all the parts myself as needed. In the early 90s the pistol choices were 1911s in .45 or Glock usually in 9mm. If I were starting from scratch today would I choose Glock? I don't know. Glocks have a lot going for them, but there are lots of great choices today-M&P, Walter, CZ, Sig for example. There is a trend to seeking the Holy Grail of EDC and constantly chasing the latest/best new pistol. I can put holes in targets very well with the Glocks and that is what any pistol is for.

As I was reading the comment section I too have to agree with the people who liked your 2 gun shootout. I constantly do the same with pistols that I own. Even though my Shield Plus outshoots my P365, I find that the P365 draws more easily from my front jeans pocket so that's the one that I pocket carry. I carry it with out a holster as the P365 has a frame safety. But when I 3:30 IWB carry I carry my PC Shield Plus with its 4" ported barrel in a Clinger 2-clip tuckable holster with their comfort pad. With this setup no cover garment is required, but you do have to pull out that part of the shirt thats been tucked in to draw out the pistol. Comfortable too. I've found that when hip carrying a longer barrel doesn't impede you in any way so it's a why not kind of situation. Also carried this way but left the shirt not tucked in as it then became my cover garment in the heat of summer while hiking the National Parks trails walking by hundreds of people & no one ever noticed. The benefit is a much faster draw. And the Shields don't require different grip modules, trigger mods, or grip tape that the P365 series of pistols do. I did however install Magguts springs and followers for both the P365 mags & Shield Plus 10 round mags. As a frequent shooter & competing in IDPA and ASI competitions I've found that both my P365 and P365XL, & my Shield Plus go down every few thousand rounds & need factory repair. So I agree with the instructors who say to buy 2 of the same carry pistol, train with one & carry the other.

I used to have a Glock 43, but I sold it after I got the PPS because the PPS filled the same role but I liked it better. I just wish Walther would put out the PPS update. They could call it PPS M3 or PDP slim. I think a lot of people want to see a PPS more similar to the P365 or shield plus. So better grip texture, optics cut, and more capacity. Maybe improve the trigger while they’re at it. The PPS M2 is still a nice little gun, but it’s definitely dated in 2024.

THE WALTHER PPS M2 IS LARGE FOR A MICRO COMPACT BUT I CAN SHOOT IT FOR HOURS AT THE RANGE BECAUSE OF THE SMOOTH RECOIL IMPULSE. I CAN'T SAY THE SAME FOR THE SMITH AND WESSON SHIELD, THE GLOCK 43 OR THE SIG 365.

The G43 is substantially lighter (18.3 oz vs. 21.1 oz with magazines), has a better reputation for reliability, and can be fitted with a LTT Striker Control Device which is much better for preventing an accidental discharge when drawing or holstering it than the protruding striker of the PPS.

Personally, I can't shoot the single stacks worth a darn. They carry easy, but so does my EDC 26. In fact my 26 with a flush mag is actually SMALLER than than my 43! And then I carry a G17 backup mag every.single.day too... and MANY G17 and G19 mags are spread around my truck, Harley, briefcase, house, edc bag, etc.... Walther is actually made very close to where I live... I probably, eventually will own one...some model... but I've been carry a Glock double stack daily since 2008...I don't see that changing. YES THE GRIP IS NARROWER THAN IT SHOULD BE. I USED BICYCLE INNER TUBES TO BUILD UP THE GRIP FOR COMFORTABLE LONG RANGE SESSIONS.
@tomasteply19568 ай бұрын
A little tip for you. Don't shoot from reset. Reset during the cycling (by letting go the trigger forward) and end with somewhat prepped trigger. Improved not only my shooting quite a bit. Shooting from reset makes the shooter shoot right after the trigger clicks and not when the shooter is actually prepared. (Sorry if I didn't explain it clear enough, English is my second language.) Also glock mags work on a different principle than normal mags, allowing the spring to be weaker. The slide has a "nub" that punches the rounds down when it is going backwards and the bullets bounce up to be ready to be picked by the slide when it moves forward. Keep up the great work you do especially for women who want to carry.

You scored 100 but I could see why it needed a closer look. Very nice reloads. One of the hardest things I've found to get a newer shooter to do is drop the empty mag. I have to tell them multiple times empty mags belong on the ground until you're done shooting that string. I handled one of the first PPS models years ago & it felt like sandpaper against sandpaper: slide, trigger, mag insertion & even the overall hand feel. Looks like it's been improved with the 2nd gen. I do agree about the "bar of soap" feel of the G43 & that's why I traded my G48 for a G26. The wider grip stopped it from trying to twist in my hand. As always, thanks for what you're doing for new shooters & good video.

The only add-ons I did was a nice tallon grip and swapped out the sites for tritium true glow night sites will not play around with anything mechanical. I love it! Regarding the course..probably a good idea you practice more real world tactics, basically within true closer defensive distances and also restricted one handed positions such as if an attacker was very close to you or physically on you where you wouldn’t have the ability to aim. A score on those maneuvers would be more realistic. What’s that saying in sports, what we practice off the field is what we’ll do on the field. What you’re currently doing is more like relaxed target shooting.

Stav I like your videos and especially how patient you seem in your instruction. I wanted to ask Mac what is the best way to learn how to stay on target when someone who is attacking you is moving around as they try to attack? You being an officer is why I ask you instead of Stav. Thank you both 😂

That's a very difficult question to answer....If your asking me how to hit moving targets the best answer I can give is to practice shooting them.....Trap and Skeet have defiantly helped me understand how to lead and keep the gun moving but things in real life are so fast and unpredictable.....Its hard to say how to make things work....Mac

I tried to open my favorite things but it has expired it says. I am just wondering what the name of the cross body bags and where did you get them. I want to purchase one for my wife

i wouldn't say they are that similar even if they are the same size they are textured and contoured differently so that might cause friction or snagging on holsters

When looking at these two guns, I would’ve been showing the same carry options. They were too similar to do two separate videos on :)

@@SheEquipsHerself it seemed to work out for you because you didn't run into any of those issues
