I’ve been debating months on how to do a aluminum bed cover on mine so I can get rid of my thick heavy fiberglass bed cover. This is a awesome thing to see. Just gotta find a place to get some aluminum sheet metal here in SC

I have a cage to work around though so I gotta figure on that, probably where my seam/hinge will go. You riveted the plate to the L channel around the outside perimeter? How did the rivets sit against the bed rail?

Looking to make something like this myself. With the hinge where it is, is the whole cover just sitting in place and only held down by the pins in the corners? I really like the hinge idea and location just trying to wrap my head around how the whole cover is mounted.

I’ll say you need something in the middle to help hold it down. While making a pass the center tries to fly up!

Did you have to add extra pins in the middle to keep it from flapping up?

It needed it. So I ended up putting some holes sideways in the lip of the bed and I use zip ties to hold it down from the underside. When I need to lift the front I just cut those zipties.

@@KyNoPrep do you have spacers behind the wheels ? I have a 1985 s10, what's the widest wheel I can put on my stock rear end. I wanna go 10" tucked but don't if it will fit

@@yoooo3231 I ran this 15x10 on the rear with the factory rear end and frame for a while. It’s a 4.5” backspacing and no spacer.

Can you send a few pictures to my email address. Of how the frame is mounted inside. How the changes or mounted. Info on were you bought the black sheets. Or the lips of the aluminium sheets rest on top of the bed or flush with the top but inside. I need 1 that opens in 2 places like what you did.
