Hey bro, ur music is amazing. I personally play piano as well, but I never know how to do this. Is there any way if you can share how or how did you learn to be able to listen to a piece and write its sheet music out? I asked this question to several other pianist but most of them gave me the “I play by ear” answer so… yeah 😂

Thank you! 😁 When I make arrangements, I usually use a notation software. I often start with the left hand first like figuring out chord patterns. For the right hand, I listen to the original several times and transcribe measure by measure. Then I listen to the playback together with the original and fix some notes if necessary. Lastly, I revise the arrangement for performance. I think making arrangements can help you with ear training and you may be able to play by ear in the future!

The theory that making arrangements can train ear listening sounds very interesting, I will definitely try that out. Thanks a lot! Lastly, do you have perfect pitch? Or does it matter THAT much as everyone says it does, in this particular case, making arrangements?

@@henrychu5553 Yes, I do have perfect pitch. In the case of making arrangements, I think it only affects time of making one. It may take a longer time to finish an arrangement, but it also depends on your experience.
