My mother used to love feeding the squirrels there. Her ashes are spread in a copse on the left side as you walked up the path.

When I was a child I used to go there on Sunday mornings with my dad and there was an aviary in one of those buildings, tropical fish in another and I think plants in another. There were always lots of squirrels that could be hand fed but at one point the powers that be decided they were vermin and needed 'culling'. However, they soon returned. I used to work in one of those big houses opposite in the early 2000s when it was Wake Smith solicitors and it has always been a nice park. There's a bear pit in there somewhere as well Tim.

Thanks Myra. I remember the Squirrels running across to me last time but I had no food. In the wild they stay well clear of me. Best regards Tim

You hit the nail on the head there Tim coming from Darnall in the east end of Sheffield means i hardley ever went to places like that when i were a kid . Ok we have high hazels park but if you look at the state of that to these gardens the money spent is very disproportionate .
@timawells7 ай бұрын
High hazels was much better then Jon, High Hazels is a shadow of itself now. All the money is spent on Weston Park, Botanical etc now.
