For those looking for rocks or gravel, try goibg to your local aquarium store. They generally stock a lot of different rocks, pebbles and gravel.

If you want any plant to flourish in water, don't forget to fertilize with a full spectrum hydroponic fertilizer. Regular liquid plant fertilizers are not sufficient. I grow a lot in hydro and also love displaying my snake plants like the way you did in this video. So cool!

After reading that they can grow in water, I transferred mine to water as an experiment, no pebbles or lecca, just water. 6 weeks on and all pieces are looking healthy and growing new roots plus I now have two pups. All i do is change the water weekly and give them good light (i haven't added any fertiliser yet)....I'm curious to see how long they'll survive.

Left mine in water for 6 months before changing it like once a month and it was fine. I was shocked how durable it was in water. Although growth all stoped about 2 months In I’m assuming cause lack of soil nutrients. They where still healthy after 6 months and whent crazy when I planted em.

I have mine just in water on a south facing window for 6 months now and they are doing amazing! The roots had completly covered the bottom in no time, the first pups are now almost as big as the parents and there are new pups everywhere. One of the first pups even grew a flower! I’ve never even seen flowers on these plants before!

I'm going to be doing this! I'm so tired of the fungas gnats that completely overtake my snake plant! Then I recently took on close to 200 plants when my daughter had a baby. She had 4 snake plant varieties as well. I never knew when I was over watering them or under watering. Now I won't have to guess anymore. I am looking forward to this, The only thing missing in this video was the fertilizer part or the plant food. I know you have to do something as they would not get enough to live just by water and rocks. But I will search your other videos for that answer....it must be somewhere...lol. Regular standard liquid plant fertilizer for plants in soil is not sufficient for plants growing in water. You'll want to get a full spectrum hydroponic fertilizer. I grow semi hydro and full hydroponic.

I like this idea. I have so many snake plants throughout my office becuase I have a hard time throwing them away. One of them is taller than me (I'm 5.10) some are drying out some are drooping. I have to keep reminding staff not to water. I am in the middle of repotting. I have some questions about the jar. Why are you not putting the plants all the way down in the jars? Do you change the water or just add more to it?

I've been growing one in water for several years and now I want to put it in soil but some of the outer leaves are limp. It's never done this before and all the other leaves look great. What could be causing this and what should I do when I transplant it into soil?
