Hi. I am a subscriber from South Korea. How do you control the water level when propagating using Perlite. Can you give me some tips? Thank you.

I know from having the “Peace Lily”, loves the Dark, because it forces them to bloom! I had mine under fluorescent lights for years, and it stayed dark about 50% of the time, but it always had flowers!

Can someone tell me if it will help the plant focus energy on new growth if I cut the flower stalks before they get big and bloom?

I've never propagated in soil, do you keep the soil moist until it has roots or do you water when the soil gets dry as you would with a normal plant?
@SheffieldMadePlants5 сағат бұрын
Probably more moist than normal

Why don't you buy some larger planters and combine several of your smaller plants in one pot. They look better is clusters anyway.

Your shamrock plant would much prefer to be outside. They need lots of light. I bring mine in and let it go dormant in the winter and then put it back out on the porch in the spring.

Great channel! I have a question though after watching this. Is there any merit to adding water directly down/inside the moss pole i.e keeping that moist to maybe promote root growth for attachment? I just have a pole (not a plastic thing to fill up like yours). Long story short, mine I got in real bad shape & have used velcro to slowly pull everything up against the pole (to stop it falling over as well). May have to move the pole as it is not where you suggested to put it (I just guessed tbf) but yep, main question, would it help to water it down the pole? TY in advance.
@SheffieldMadePlants7 сағат бұрын
Yep that’s a good idea

@@SheffieldMadePlants Cool. I have a little advantage in that I just have all the API stuff as I actually keep fish ...... so use the "waste" water for all my plants. Nitrates is what I take out of all of this. Using the API conditioners is what we all use to make it safe for fish. Then we bust it up massive through filters & always looking to reduce Nitrates. Room temp as well. Ty for your reply.

i agreed to him. i also experience it to my self. when your in hot place after you take a bath. you feel even more hot you feel not comfortable at all. that's gonna feel your plants if you mist them.

Your pickle plant is one that according to minimal research grows in mats and needs to dry out before being saturated with water. The dying areas could be from not properly replicating this watering process (not letting it dry out enough or not soaking it enough). Says they need a lot of sun but need indirect, so from that I’m inferring many hours a day of strictly indirect. Dropping of the little pickles is normal, that seems to be how they spread, you’ll have the same issue with Baby Burro’sTail and Donkey’s Tail (And the string of things family too) if they need a water.

Another tip on vining plants is cutting is actually good for them. My 5 year old pothos is nice and bushy from me trimming off the vines as soon as they get to my desired length. Keeps him from dropping all those root close leaves for fear of dying 😂 it works well on my other vine plants too

I put my Ctenante Burle Marxii (I've just learned, they weren't classified as "Calatheas" anymore... 🤔) in the kitchen and it likes the humidity there (between 60 and 70%). Right now, three new leaves are in the making. I'm curious, if I can handle it in the long run...

Fabulous. I really learn a lot in this one. The baby monstera I got was in a 6 inch pot with knats, I bathed it, gently washed roots and repotted in a 4 inch pot to work on getting root bound and I put my stake in. I looks a lot better. Thanks for everything. Peace and Love.
