I'm 68yo, and I just my first cruiser on Saturday. Just happens to be a 900 Vulcan. Love it.

Interesting vid. At 56 yrs old I bought a 2019 Vulcan 900 Custom as a "Getting back to 2 wheels" lifestyle. I gota say, If I decide to get another bike, Its gona be so hard to let this one go.. I love it and I think its growing on my wife as well. And she was never a Bike girl. I just wish it had cruise control.

Last week I hired a Vulcan VN900 Custom for the day while travelling abroad ( in Latvia.) So here’s my impression. First, let me say that back home in the stable I have the Suzuki M1800R (M109R) Intruder and Kawasaki Z1000SX. I find this a good combo as a cruiser and a sports tourer both bring different things to the table and compliment each other well. But for this post I’ll just compare the Vulcan with the M109R because everyone will know how the Z is a different kind of beast. Basically the Vulcan 900 feels like a watered down version of the M109R. I don’t mean that in a bad way, it’s a middleweight after all. The Vulcan looks big enough but after the Intruder the first thing I noticed was the weight difference (it’s more than 100kg(220lb lighter, at 234kg. ) Then it was the seat height (the lowest I’ve sat on, at 685mm, even compared with the Intruder which is around 700.) Being also less bulky and narrower this meant it was the first bike I’ve been able to flat foot with my knees bent. All of that adds up to a bike which I found extremely easy to manage. The V Twin has some similarities with mine, in that it pulls along easily at low revs in most gears which I like, and it has pretty much all the performance you need, even if it lacks the awesome extra power of the Intruder when you really crank it. The same straight line stability on the highway that I enjoy on the Intruder can also be felt with this bike, but although the Intruder feels better balanced on cornering, I felt that despite the lower seat, the Vulcan had more ground clearance before it might start to scrape. Aesthetically, the Vulcan is certainly a handsome machine but I’m not a huge fan of the skinny front tyre concept, and for me the flowing lines of the Intruder are the most attractive in its class. When I first sat on the Vulcan I also had the feeling of a comfortable seat but after around 50 miles I was conscious of some discomfort at the base of the spine which I never had on the Intruder, whose seat comfort is exceptional. I had good fun on the Vulcan 900, and riding something I found easy to manage was a wise choice on unfamiliar roads in a foreign country with enough other things to think about. I won’t the swapping my Intruder for this bike anytime soon (or ever) but unless you’ve got used to something bigger, with the extra power, I’d certainly recommend this bike as one that is forgiving and easy to live with.

As you get older, it has nothing to do with the not wanting something that "scares," or being fearful of power... It's all about the ergos... I've had all models of sport bikes, and I'm addicted to the twisties... but, when you start feeling it in the knees after a while, a cruiser starts looking more palatable...

I bought the vulcan 900 classic when I was 25. I'm 27 now and put 10k on it. Love cruisers especially this one!

I have this exact bike and I really like the balance, almost feels like I don’t need to put the kickstand down. Very smooth & comfortable ride. It’s perfect bike for around town and taking those longer rides. I will say,I see riders on the sports bikes (crotch rocket) taking a lot more risks on the highway weaving in & out of traffic, very unsafe.

@Rebecca Fasten Yes, you stole the words right out of my fingers. I was going to post that exact same comment. Very skillful maneuvering in tight spaces indoors, without causing a domino crash. Also, thanks for demonstrating a technique that most vloggers don't show enough of, which is using the clutch and friction zone for movinga midsize bike around the garage or parking lot. That way you use the engine torque to push the bike forward without tiring your calf and hip muscles. Great bike! Thanks for posting!! Ride safe.👍

I have always been a harley guy but my first bike was a ninja 500r but my first financed bike I ever got was a vulcan classic 900. I've customed out my bike and wouldn't trade it for anything. cruisers are my favorite and even being a younger guy (22) I am even starting to see the appeal of bags and wind shields (not getting any soon) but to me for riding anywhere on public roads cruisers are the way to go! hope to hear back from you and let's ride at some point!!!

A few years ago I bought a Honda Shadow 750...a month later I took it in for oil and standard checkup.. As I waited..I sat on a Vulcan 900. I swear I left teardrops on the gas tank! I had not considered the Vulcan...foolishly. Now.. I wanted this bike! I was too hasty when I went shopping. Now I'm looking for a used 2015 Vulcan custom.

If you ride long enough you will eventually end up riding a cruiser. Why? Comfortable and user friendly. All bikes are fun. When being comfortable becomes fun you will like the cruiser. 😁😁😁

You can tell just how comfortable you are on the bike just by listening...... your speech is relaxed and flowing and I know from your previous vids that when you feel anxious your words don't flow. I think you may have found a bike to fill that gap hahahaha :-) I am not a fan of the cruiser, I love the look and sound of them, I love that they are comfortable, but I (Personally) feel awkward on it, I feel that they don't handle very well, even though I know they do, it's just a feeling I have. Looking forward to the next Yemen installment ;-)

How are the vibrations between 60-85mph? I keep hearing from others that review this bike that it vibrates A LOT, so it makes the bike unsuitable for those looking to do a lot of cruising on Highways. I'm looking at getting this very bike, and plan on riding 2up a lot, and would like to know if it's as bad as others have stated, or if they're just being panzy haha. Hope to hear from you or anyone within the comments section who has actually rode or owns a Vulcan 900 Custom. Ride safe brother.
@DiefullahMotoVlogs7 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is some vibration when you're at a complete stop in idle. But once you get going, it isn't that bad. Thanx for watching.
@missyleigh21047 жыл бұрын
I have owned this bike for 2 years and put 8000 miles on it, I can tell you that your pillion will complain after a few hours of numb bum but as for the rider this bike is mega comfy and you can ride all day without any aches. The bars can be a bit vibey but some spongey grips helps reduce this. I have owned lots of other bikes but this was my first cruiser, it will do about 100mph flat out but feels happy at 65-75mp with good mpg too !! (much better than my Honda Blackbird), I put some vance and hines slashcut staggered on it and oh boy does it sound good. If you did buy this bike....put some noisy pipes on it and you won't be dissapointed.

You dont look like a dumb blonde. I was a Harley guy forever, finances changed andi just bougt a valcan. I like it alot. Its like a big moped. I mean your neer gonna race anybody on it,your never gonna want to build the engine or probably do anything to it. Im gonna put a windsheild and something to carry my backpack on. But for what it is the bike is fine. Change the oil put a shitload of miles on it and dont be sad when it diesor you have to sell it. Its like a good one night stand that lasted awhile.

Orating way too long over damn black Friday instead of speaking of the bike you're riding. If killing time was the objection why not just shorten the video? This would enhance your vids and the viewers' expectations. Nice bike, anyway.
