I am a 'smaller guy' 5'6" 170lbs 29"inseam and I will say that the bike is very comfortable. Slightly narrower seat would not be a bad thing, and I will probably change it out next year. I have no problem flat-footing this bike. Mine is a 2021 Vulcan Classic 900 LT.

Great video and the comments are helping me feel even better about my recent purchase. I`m 56 yrs young. Last time I owned a Motorcycle was about 1988. I`v e been Married 25 years today to a great lady but she was never fond of bikes. But I`ve expressed my wish to get one again. Last week, she drove me 1.5 hrs north of our home in Calgary (her suggestion) to the Red Deer Kawasaki dealer to check out what I believe to be probably the last new 2019 Vulcan Custom available. 1 Mile on the odo and full warranty. I am a bit nervous after all these years but my family is supportive . We have two boys, 18 and 23. Deal is done . I will register for a MSF course.

I’ve had my 2010 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom for over 4 years and I love it. I’m also only 5’ and 120lbs and totally comfortable. I’ve had to change the seat to something a with a lower profile, and installed kickback risers to fit me a bit better. I have yet to find a Harley that fits me. Honestly, I think it's unfair to the Vulcan to compare them to Sportsters lol. I'd compare them with the Softail line, the Custom with something like the Breakout or the Low Rider and the Classic with the Heritage. I ride a 2020 Low Rider S right now and paid ~20 grand for it. Now, I love it, but frankly I don't really "get it". It's an awesome bike, but I'd be just as happy on my old Vulcan Custom too. It's a life lesson kind of thing, but I figured I'd share that experience with anyone else who may be reading these comments. I'm gonna end up selling the Low Rider S here soon and I'm gonna look into getting me a used Vulcan Nomad or Vaquero, probably, or hell maybe even a 900 Classic. Harley makes some great bikes and get one if you want one, but they definitely ain't the end game. Metric cruisers aren't just "place holders" for Harleys, which is a trap I'd fallen into I think. They kick their own breed of ass. Thanks for the video.
@BoSoxJunky093 жыл бұрын
As the rider in this video... I think it'd unfair to Harley to compare how much more comfortable this Vulkan was to ride than my Harley or any other Harley I rode. The low profile of this bike with the seat selection killed any Harley I rode. I still love Harley though and would totally buy a breakout or the new 22 sportster s

Not 100% sure cuz I didn't go to the doc but I swear I broke my tail bone. I was riding with 2 guys I was bringing up the rear and when I pulled over, they turned and found me in agony on the side of the road. I barely made it home. I’d doesn’t compare with a sportster really accept for engine size. It’s a bigger framed motorcycle. More like a softail standard. A sportster is just that..a “ sport”. It’s made to carve corners better than larger cruisers. If you know how to ride one a sportster will definitely rip up a curvy road lol. My first bike was a 883 17 years ago and it was a lot of fun. if I got my stats right, the Kawasaki has a 903cc engine, compared to the 883. Not that huge of a difference in #s, but, I think the gearing is different (like significantly different). Someone smarter than me can probably explain how it's different. Love that vulcan!
@SiegfriedsMotorwerx4 жыл бұрын
The Vulcan is liquid cooled which makes the biggest difference in the engines department, revs higher and quicker. As far as the riding position this bike just feels less “crammed” then an 883 or even a 1200 sportster. Plus the customs come out of the box with forwards
@just-dl4 жыл бұрын
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx I didn't know the 883 was air-cooled. @@bigpapa8152 does 4-valve mean two intakes, two exhausts? If the 4-valve has more opening area (ie, faster intake/exhaust at the same pressure), I could see a serious advantage. I could see that. I'm not an engine guru by any stretch (never have found how to adjust the muffler belt!) so I'm glad to learn new stuff...even if I never put it to any practical use.... :-)
@bigpapa81523 жыл бұрын
@@just-dl Yes, 2 iintake, 2 exhaust. A 2 valve head is not bad at all, but think of it this way. You have a big intake and a big exhaust valve in one engine. In the other you have 2 smaller intake valves and 2 smaller exhaust valves. At high engine rpm, the 4 valve head will let the engine breathe a lot more easily and efficiently then a 2 valve head. Its a lot easier at high rpm to open and close 4 small valves then 2 big valves. The result is better performance and efficiency.

If the wheelbase is longer for sure it's better for taller riders. Folks over 6 ft get cramped on short bikes. Sportsters are fairly short.

i have a 2017, it's my 4th bike. i think it's kinda vanilla, if you want the truth. but i'm ok with that. it does everything a cruiser should do, it just doesn't do any of it great. i have no complaints, i paid $7k out the door for a 2 year old leftover straight out of the crate. where else can you get this much for that price? next month, it's getting an 18° front end with 10" over fork tubes and a set of mini apes. eventually, i'll either skin it, or paint it.

@@RJSampsonite like I had originally said above. The 883 was a vibrating son of a gun to me - can't stand that. Plus it was slower then the Vulcan S by quite a bit. Fast forward to present day. I got rid of the Vulcan S in a months time and got the bike I wanted to get originally (but was to in a rush). 2021 Indian Scout Bobber, icon series. The Indian BLOWS them both out of the water. So sexy, smooth, sounds amazing (change the exhaust). I did exhaust, tune , intake on this bike and the power, roll on, overall riding experience has greatly improved and it was already amazing stock. Do yourself a favor - look at the Indian. It also destroys the other two bikes in the sexy mean bad ass looking department. Good luck

They can be purchased for around 785-805 online. If you are adding only pipes your bike wouldn’t require additional modifications, if your doing anything to the air filter you’ll definitely need a fuel programmer.
