Hello Ranveer, A fan from Bangladesh here. I quite enjoy your channel but this was a disappointing segment. Information was lacking from your end and the guest was spewing the same propaganda that I have been seeing in Indian media about Bangladesh becoming an Islamist state. Mind you this is coming from an agnostic person. This movement while it started out about the freedom fighter quota ended up being about democracy and freedom. We have not been a effectively living under an autocratic regime for the last 15 years. Proper explanation and nuances will take awhile so I will encourage you to watch a 4 part series done by Deshbhakt which goes into the details for you to have a better understanding. In terms of India Bangladesh and the sub-continent I would hope that India as a democratic country would support democracy in other countries instead of propping up dictators friendly to them. This is not sustainable. As the largest country in thr sub-continent it can play the leader in bringing the 6 countries together for economic and security cooperation. We would be huge geopolitical block. Anyways I hope you take the time to watch the videos by Deshbhakt it will give you a clear picture of what happened and why. i recommend that because its geared towards the Indian audience.

No. Hasina's regime was not positive at all. Just after coming into power in 2009 within 2 month. She organized one of the greates mass killing in BDR tragedy. She killed over 76 army officers in one day and called it a BDR rebel. It was all her plan. She did it to gain more grasp on the chair. From there onwards she started her dictator ruling with murder, disappear, jail against anyone who speak against her. Learn about "Pilkhana tragedy", "Aynaghor" etc. And this crackdown on students was the final blow that people could take.

Yes, The reservation quota system can be resolve by democratic process. But this protests wasn’t violent from day one. Even it was a peaceful protect till July 14. Respect for you guys, but you must understand that it's not only about religion as you have made it out to be. when the government fails to provide justice you go to the courts but what will happen if the judges of the courts share the same political agenda as the government, will you get an impartial verdict? also, you are calling protestors mobs in the streets when the government and the judicial power of the country are working against you do you have any other way to get a fair judgment.
