Dear Sheikh Imran Hosein: I may not possess extensive knowledge of Islam and Christianity, but your interpretation resonates with the Christian understanding of the Crucifixion of Jesus (peace be upon him). If Allah SWT took Jesus's (PBUH) soul, it implies his passing. Even if Jesus (PBUH) did not have a soul during the crucifixion, the act of being nailed to the cross is still considered Crucifixion. In my humble opinion, it would be more coherent if Jesus (PBUH) was taken to heaven before being placed on the cross, and someone else, appearing like Jesus (PBUH), was crucified in his stead. Once again, I acknowledge my limited understanding, and I trust that Allah SWT knows best.

In the case of Jesus (PBUH), it would have been different when his soul departed, as he appeared dead, signifying a clinical death. It would not make sense if he were merely asleep, with his heart still functioning, while people believed that he had died.

Crucifixion implies death. If someone didnt die on the cross it implicitly means they didnt get crucified. This also explains the Chrisitan belief that Jesus was resurrected from death (Easter).

There is a great misunderstanding regarding the meaning of the word CRUCIFIXION. The act of putting someone on the cross is called crucifixion. If anyone says that Jesus was placed on the cross without being crucified, they are insane. It's the same thing to say that someone walked on foot without using their feet.

The Holy Bible states " God saw his suffering and was SATISFIED" That is why Salvation or Escape can be proclaimed from Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost. God satisfied. Often our Blessed Quran Kareem uses extremely elliptical speech with overarching symbolism; so for people whose languages are poor in metaphor etc, find it hard to understand symbolic concepts. Several top bible scholars are agreed and that 4 gospels are anonymous books. So far, no one knows who were those evangelists who concocted these books of folkloric tales. The language of Jesus and his disciples was Aramaic, but the Gospels are in Greek. I do not say that every thing in these gospel is wrong, but we must not think that every thing written in these gospels is right. There are contradictions among these Gospels, and also there are contractions between same Gospels of today and same gospels of 4th century. When we read history, Quran and 4 anonymous gospels including all apocrypha, it becomes clear that: Jesus was indeed nailed on the cross. He became unconscious on Cross and resembled a dead body (Quran confirm this with word Shubbiha=resembled in 4:157). Roman were told by Essene Joseph of Arimathea that because Jesus has been died on the Cross; so he needs his body. The body was given, which was later taken to the empty tomb of Joseph of Arimathea. Essence treated him with over 75 pound Aloe and Myrrh (See Gospel of John) and Jesus was -resurrected- resuscitated. Gospels show, later, Jesus ate broiled with disciples to show them that he was not a spirit. So he was not crucified=not died on the Cross. We read in Matthew 15:24 that Jesus said: I am sent only for lost sheep (lost tribes) of Israel. *Now a rational point arises, which is:* If we assume that Jesus died on the cross at age around 33; then how did he fulfil his words which he spoke in Matthew 15:24? He was a prophet of God, and a Prophet never tell lies; so certainly, he fulfilled his words which he spoke in Matthew 15:24. But how? Doctor of Church Saint Bishop Irenaeus (died 202 CE) wrote in his book that Jesus was living even after his 50s and he was preaching people. That shows: he did not die on the Cross=not crucified, nor he ascended to the Sky. Actae Thomae (Acts of Thomas) was read in all Churches along other Gospels until the 5th century, when it was banned by the church. Acts of Thomas show that Jesus along with Thomas attended a marriage party in Taxila (Pakistan) about 15 years after the incidence of the Cross. This shows: Jesus did not die on the Cross, nor he was ascended to the Sky. Bible Scholar C R Gregory writes that Church managed to delete the last page of Gospel of Mark in the very beginning, but he found that last page in Mount Athos which showed that after the incidence of Cross, Jesus appeared from EAST and advised disciples to preach West. This also show that Jesus did nor die on the Cross, nor he was ascended to Sky. The Restored Gospel of Nazarene shows: after surviving death on the Cross; Jesus secretly immigrated to the East of the Parthian Empire, and never returned to Palestine. On the East side of the Parthian Empire lived lost tribes of Israel (read again Matthew 15:24). Jesus died at age 120 and was buried in Gave which still exist. With the grave is attached a stone slab which show feet prints of Jesus. On that slab, clearly nail marks can be seen in his feet. This is the whole Truth. If they could not reach him with any harm and humiliation, how could they have put him on the cross? Big Difference between beliefs of Christians and Quran. Christians say: Jesus died on the Cross, but Quran says he did not die on the Cross. Holy Quran 4:157 says: "They didn't crucify him" 👉🏻 QUESTIONS: When Allah took the soul of Jesus, in the same way when we sleep, what did happen to Jesus's body in the meantime? Does that mean Jesus's body wasn't put (suspended) on the cross (as Quran says they didn't crucify him)? And therefore does it mean he wasn't nailed to the cross either? Because "crucifixion" means to be nailed or tied to a large wooden cross, beam or stake and if Quran says that Jesus wasn't crucified, it means his body wasn't put on the cross (while his soul was taken by Allah). He wasn't killed 2nd - "they did not crucify him" = Jesus' body was not placed and nailed on the cross. If a man is crucified, it takes hours or days to die. I respect sheikh for his opinions on several matters, but in this case I would respectfully disagree with him, as Quran leterally specified that Prophet Isa A. S. was neither KILLED + nor he himself was the one who was actually CRUCIFIED... But it was all made to appear so... So if Allah is making something to appear so, we can't surpass his plan... had me, you, or all of us be present there, we all would have felt Isa A. S. as being crucified... Because the God has made it appear so... How he did that GOD knows best. But It's just similar to the fact that with all the five senses we humans have always been feeling that the earth on which we are standing or walking, isn't moving, even when we now discovered that earth is spinning fast, at a speed of 1600km/h while also revolving around sun at a massive speed of 107,000km/h.... As the Quran states that Isa (Jesus) was not crucified, and since crucifixion requires being placed on a cross, it means that Isa was not even placed on the cross. Considering that the intention to crucify him was unjust, I don't see why one should be offended that an unjust person suffers the consequences. It would be better to stand up with the same strength against situations where the just are subjected to injustice.

In case of Jesus (PBUH), Allah SWT called back both (wafaat) and then took him unto Himself (means complete body as well). Just like in sleep nafs of person is returned when he wakes up, similarly those whose have experienced wafaat can be returned back which is different from moat (death) after which there is no return. Secondly, Sheikh Imran's theory could have been considered right if Allah SWT would not have revealed the words "wa-ma-salabuhu" meaning "and they did not crucified him" but since Allah SWT has clarified that they did not kill him and they did not crucified him, so one can not after this explicit clarification possibly consume such meanings of this ayat that "putting him on a cross but not dying on a cross". Thirdly, Allah SWT said "rather it was made to appear like that for them" so how was it done by Allah SWT is the question around which all these theories are circulating. All theories are interpretations and none can be validated so better is to stick only to what Allah SWT has said. This is my understanding and everyone has right to differ.

After they put him on the cross , I believe that Allah SWT took his soul and he have made it appear to them that Nabi Isa AS was dead. After they removed him from the cross and put him in the tomb , than Allah SWT returned his soul. According to some Christian scriptures, That is why women like Mary Magdalene used to go every day to treat his wounds although the Christians don't know that he never died, but that his soul was returned to him, Qormi Malta , Security Officer :)

I knew in my heart it wasn't right and I believed when you said Allah will not test another person for his or her actions and it was Isa on the cross and just as the Quran has it tjst Allah takes your soul when you are sleeping I always thought he took the soul of Isa alaihisalam on the cross as you said on many occasions and returned his soul 3 days after in the cave.
