Although not being student of this field but in my opinion exporting electricity and thinking we are earning enough from this is a very short term vision. Exporting our electricity to India, China and Bangladesh makes it even more competitive for Nepal to establish industries. We should be able to consume Nepal's electricity within the country then only we can be prosperous from electricity.

Pokhara airport is a national pride, but in terms of making profit I’m pretty sure it’ll take give or take 10 decades. Instead of making international airports after airports, why don’t you invest in the land infrastructures (better roads, regulate pollution etc..)

I am on a same page on this with Mr Sanjay and Mr Shekhar. Infrastructure or lack of it has been the bottleneck for Nepal. We should take pride in the infrastructure projects. Kathmandu-Pokhara high speed train of at least 200km/hr, Nijgarh airport and Kathmandu Metro should be the next priorities.

Do some economics. These are not feasable projects for nepal economy and population. It will only add debt and not generate any revenue to development
@beardman7786 Жыл бұрын
@@madhuaryal5336 you can take example of Switzerland, with only 87 lakhs population and about 1/3rd of area of Nepal, it has rail network of more than 5000 kms with similar terrain like ours and seven international airports. I don't see any reasons why such infrastructure projects are not feasible in Nepal. To unlock the true potential of Nepal this is what I believe is the way moving forward. I am not saying we should start tomorrow but they should definitely be our priorities.

Exporting electricity brings no great changes in our economy. We should increase our own consumption capacity. It decreases import of petroleum, this is one of the major imports that is hampering our economy. NEA should sell electricity cheap to factories, this helps the current factories minimize the production cost and also creates environment to open new factories. We should go electric when it comes to transport. We can used the harvested electricity in factories, transport such as train , tram, and should encourage household to increases the consumption capacity. This would being sustainable positive impact in our economy. Selling electricity should be our last priority.

Pokhara and Bhairawa airport are white elephant projects. Even after knowing India will not recorgise projects made from Chinese money, yet we ignored them and gone with the project. Question two: which domestic company of Nepal has proven certificate and qualifications to build international airport? Question 3: where to buy all the materials and facilities for the construction of the airport? Question 4: looking around Kathmandu, which project built by domestic contractors completed on time without overruns in both time and budget?
