It's always good to check the charge on a battery on a car that has not run for awhile. My 2002 Town Car has a parasitic draw that will drain the battery if it sits too long. If my car sits for more than several days, I put a trickle charger on it. I am glad you caught the mouse. Rodents can cause a lot of damage to cars, as they like to chew on the wiring.

You are right. Do you know what the parasitic draw could be?

I am not sure what is causing the parasitic draw. I have had two mechanics look at it, and neither could seem to figure it out. If I park the car for a week or more as I have done at an airport parking garage, I disconnect the negative battery cable.

Mice are a pest. Make sure you keep them out with traps and bait boxes.

Done that already but rarely catch any in the traps.

There is an easier and highly recommend way to do it right, get the Ford performance battery maintainer (Ctek) it comes with a quick connect which you hook up via the positive by the fuse box and the negative to the ground on the Chassis.. no need to even mess with the battery and it is actually recommended to do it this way.. great video ..- 17' GT350R owner
