Just a heads up... if you notice on the end of both the used and new filters it clearly states what side goes down. Appears in video you have it upside down.

Put this filter on a few days ago. I put it on at night and drove the car the next day forgetting I had installed it. After a few min of driving I was wondering where that extra little sound was coming from (forgetting I had installed it the night before) I also noticed a little throttle response boost. So this was a win! I picked this up for better filtration and looks. But if I can get a tiny little performance out of it ( which I was not expecting) then that’s a win win!

yes there is a subtle change with the air filter thanks for posting your feedback,

Just wondering if you’ve ever shot the cleaning video for that filter? 🙂

I have changed to the same filter as well part # is air863-399. I also saved my original filter and will use it as a replacement filter when the Blue one is drying. (1 day in AZ) I purchased the Air raid filter from Lethal Performance FYI.

John its a good filter the OEM one sucks and gets trashed so quickly. Check out my video posted on the Ford Performance oil separators if you don't already have them. AF

Auto Fanatic I have installed the Ford Performance Oil separator on the passenger side. After 1300 miles of normal driving I found about half an ounce .

You actually put that air filter in the wrong way lol. The tab sticking out at the end of the air filter is supposed to be pointing down and resting on your cold air intake. I doubt it matters but still thought I should give you a heads up.

kevinsdb1 i know old news i rotated it after i installed and shot this fast video, was not worth reshooting and editing for something like this.

Ordered along with oil separators! That's it for my mods (for today)!!!!

Its actually not that dirty, you could have tapped most of that out. The new one is upside down.

The air filter is dirty? Who would have thought a filter would do some filtering.

Have you ever thought about using heat reflective material on the exterior of the air box?
@autofanaticcars4 жыл бұрын
not really i have checked the airbox even on hot days and hours of driving and it does not get very hot, aluminum tape would only attract and retain more heat under the hood.
@derekyee95354 жыл бұрын
I've thought about that. I applied it a few days ago and haven't had much driving time. But I think you may be right. I'll evaluate after a few more miles and see if I have to tear it off.

Derek Yee I did add heatshield on my Gt 350 air box and it really helps keep the interior side of the air box cooler. Great mod!

Can you post a vid of the cleaning on this ?

I kept on cleaning mine and over time I see my foam piece between the plastic housing is separating from the right end. I can’t find the replacement foam piece anywhere.

Any reason to consider a pre-filter sock? Was wondering if enough water came through the hood vent to make a difference.. I just got my 2017 GT350 and it will be my daily driver here in Ohio.

at the 2:17 mark, i see the tab is pointing up and i believe when you took the old one out, the tab was pointing down...delete and redo the video?

How much hp difference vs stock yellow?
@autofanaticcars5 жыл бұрын
most likely zero the only benefit is this is reusable and able to be cleaned so it makes more sense, the filter gets dirty pretty easily

You should have bought a red one to match your GT350 😉
@autofanaticcars7 жыл бұрын
ha ha your right, i think ford chose blue since its their corporate color because other air raids ive installed were always red.

Auto Fanatic No wonder lol

Hi, I also own a GT350. My understanding is the red filters (both Air Raid and K&N) are the oiled filters, where this blue Air Raid is a dry (non-oiled). They both work just fine, but I'm guessing the non-oiled filter is less time and effort to clean. (I'll be buying this same Air Raid filter soon!)

Anyone know what is the Airaid part number?
@autofanaticcars7 жыл бұрын
same thing i doubt it will be any cheaper going through airraid. i think they sell a complete kit for like $400
@supergengo7 жыл бұрын
The Ford Performance one seems to going for $80-90 but the Airaid ones go for $60-70. Also Amazon appears to be sold out when you follow the link in your description.

I would much prefer a red filter on my race red gt350. The blue clashes BAD.

Y not the whole kit

didn't see a need for that to be honest for a daily driver. i may consider that and headers and other mods when I move soon to a less congested area.
