I have one on my 2011 F150 5.0. I don’t drive it hard and it’s amazing how much oil I find in it. I empty it every few months. At least an inch of oil comes out. And I only have 54,000 miles.
@aaronmueller49767 жыл бұрын
I handled the harness a bit differently on my install. I removed the installed push style panel clip from the air/oil seporator, and re-inserted the clip from the harness to hold that end of the seperator in. I kept the push clip, of course in case I decide to change it, but it seemed to make for a good install. Interested how it will work in the long run compared to your approach.
@autofanaticcars7 жыл бұрын
I was considering this as well but the clips were different length and the weight of the box i was concerned since the harness clips captive teeth were not as long as the clips that came on the box. either way i doubt it matters lets see in a few months if this thing works for us. thanks for watching

THE PUSH CLIP ON THE EXISTING WIRELOOM/IS THE BETTER CHOICE OVER THE 1 ONE THE SEPERATER.+ LOOKS LOTS BETTER....THEY FAIL TO TELL YOU THAT IN THE INSTR.!!
@davidpoehlein4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that! Went out and pulled the supplied push clip and stuck the wireloom push pin back in. In the installation instructions (written in 2016) there was originally a third hole (between the mounting holes) on the mounting portion of the separator. Guess they eliminated the third hole in newer versions of the separator. Agree, looks much cleaner.
@leadrings5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this explanation. Have you had any issues with the separator being secure in the engine while only being held down with two pop on clips? Especially with the high vibrations of the engine.
@autofanaticcars5 жыл бұрын
no i never had any issues i have installed these on over 40 cars so far, just make sure you get the proper hose and unit orientation and do not break the factory push clip but if you do you can get clips at any Napa or Autozone

Hello friend! I have a new 2019 GT350 in Colombia. I already install this part (passenger side) but I couldn’t find the other side filter.. (pilot side) is this last one mandatory as well?

How many miles did you have on the car when you installed it? I am at 640. Probably should have installed them when I got the car. Thanks in advance.
@231mac5 жыл бұрын
The blow-by on these engines isn't horrible, but will build up with extreme use. It's not imperative to install one when the car's brand new, especially during break-in. You're good.

Does the separator void the factory warranty?

Michael def not this is a ford factory part listed and sold at all dealers nationwide, it is def worth doing these as a good precautionary measure
