That is not what pseudorandom means. It is random within parameters that all outcomes happen at the desired amount in a random order. Rolling dice is random. Drawing cards from a deck is pseudo random. With dice you could roll 6 5 times in a row and there is still a 1/6 chance the next roll is a 6. With cards you will draw a 6 exactly 4 times out of 52. You don't know when. But if you have drawn three 6s in 51 cards, you know 52 will be a 6. The odds change with each draw.

For a random sex schedule averaging 3 times a month, each day would have a 1 in 10 chance. But you could have sex 0 times or 6+. Pseudo random means each day has a 1 in 10 chance on average, but once you have had it 3 times, you're done for the month. If you had sex the first day the odds for day 2 are 2 in 29. If you had sex once with four days left, the odds for day 27 are 2 in 4 (50%). It is like drawing 30 cards with 3 of them marked sex.

He was scared of neglecting her so he tried to make it so he wouldn't, that's growth, if you actually watched the episode, the culminating scene between them explains all of this.

His development was self-awareness. He knows his flaws, how they affect others, and actually cares now. He has feelings for Amy, values their relationship, and fears losing it due to him being who he is. So he is making the effort to keep himself in check and compensate for his flaws.
