OMG! I love Natenburg! I can't believe I missed this video!! I have had this book/bought it more than once and had interns, associates, and even exes steal this book. It's so great!

I am wondering what is the industry standard to calculate realized volatility. I understand it is the annualized standard deviation for a period (e.g. 30 days). But what is the number of days, weeks, or months used to compute the standard deviation?
@sanketsawant74756 жыл бұрын
It depends on your expiration time. So period between trade date and expiration time

Since the market is basically being ran or run by machines now, how can you say with confidence they don’t know what is going to happen with a future market or stock... algorithms are written programs that have parameters.... meaning it will do this or that depending on the parameters .... this to me is somewhat of a fix.... I think this is why most symbols go sideways after a controlled pop...

High volatility right before earnings, very expensive call, after earnings market goes up a little, but volatility drops off a cliff. The value of the call is going way down. Happens all the time.
