If I am buying the Shelf Corp JUST to have all of the paperwork done for me, but use my personal credit to apply for any credit lines, will have matter? I just want to leap over all the paperwork, DUNS number, etc.

I get a lot of what you're saying, I do. But if you buy shelf corporations the right way, they can be a great tool. My former partner and I started out with a regular corp then but a shelf corp 1 year in, and it greatly accelerated things. Business funding, business, cards, you name it. And when we sold the company it was under that entity.

A lot of what a purchased Shelf Corp offers what we cover in our Fundability Training, and with the re-aging of the company it is essentially starting a new business. HOWEVER...in your situation it sounds like you upgraded from a sole proprietorship or a partnership to a corporation. In a situation where there is a corporate structure change, banks can (and often times do) look back on the previous operations and use that as qualifiers.

I started a jewelry company 8 years ago when I was in college. I was operating for a few months until I got sick and now I am ready to restart everything. It's still active and in good standing but I've never built business credit with it as I wasn't aware of it then. My name has changed from my maiden to married name since then so I'm amending it. Would this be seen as a shelf corporation?

Can you use shelf corp to immediately get Verizon, home Depot etc before you have the tradelines reporting?

No, it will be likely be denied. You'll start fresh in building business credit with the new ownership.

Im in a scenario where I need a bank deposit before creating a company and cant get the bank without being resident (Bulgaria) so a shelf bypasses this BUT still cant do banking in Bulgaria

I believe it's a standard requirement for opening business bank account. In the US you need the following requirements: 1. Employer Identification Number (EIN) (or a Social 2. Security number, if you're a sole proprietorship) 3. Your business's formation documents. 4. Ownership agreements. 5.Business license.

@@CreditSuite Thanks for the reply. Not everywhere fortunately but its in many areas yes. I believe US is one of the areas non-residents can open accounts actually. The predicament in Bulgaria is that Bulgarian banks have changed who deem non-residents high risk so they want a deposit first (in an escrow account) prior to company formation. This takes time and dependent on the bank's verdict who may just flat out refuse. The way around this is to purchase the company but seek banking elsewhere. Bulgaria wasn't like this the Union, like they always do, imposed more laws and restrictions on them. I agree that most banks want to see a "tie" to that country, although this tie seems to be loosened if they believe the jurisdiction is solid or your deposits are big lol But dealing with outside of the US and my reasons are outside that of credit worthiness, moreso convenience rather than having to work at Bulgarian Burger King to qualify.

What about if you have a company thats already been in business and you decide to add a aged corp to your already est business

It doesn't matter because everything will re-age with the new owner when you acquire a shelf corporation.

What about when companies like Apple and big tech companies use shelf corps. I understand why they use them to hide the new tech patient manly. Its interesting things big companies do, I do question whose SSN goes down on things like this if at all.

Shelf corps should still not be used for building business credit or for the purpose of getting financing. Hope this helps!
