Hi Kadeers TV, I had determined the shelf a dud. Was going to return to the store. I was super disapointed because the little clips don't even fully meet the diameter of the post. I had tried a few times and had boxed it all back up, ready to return. I kept thinking that..... how can all 24 clips be wrong? What am I missing. Then I found this video..... the little line of plastic inside the clip. This changed EVERYTHING! After that, the shelf assembled in a matter of minutes and the storage solution has made that space in my house super functional and tidy now. Thank you so much for posting this video! the clips don`t fit the diameter because you are not aligning the grove in the plastic with the grove around the tubing ,each line is 1" apart and each grove has to match the grove inside the plastic clip to fit... should had read the instructions then !

Just to help save someone else a few hours of frustration, dhere is what I eventually learned (with a huge help and thank you from this video): 1) the clips have a rounded edge and a flat edge. The rounded edges need to match and be facing up. That is what the little finger is trying to tell you in the instructions; 2) shelves CAN NOT be put on with the lip facing up or the clips slide right down to the bottom (with the shelves in tow).

Thank you for explaining about those edges. This is the most important thing. IKEA drawings on it's manual are terrible, they don't explain anything.

I figured out how to assemble it after almost an hour of struggling thinking the little ‘walls’ need to face up to PREVENT things falling off, but clearly the designer didn’t think about that 🙄
