Dave, loofah sponges come from a particular type of squash, allowed to mature, then peeled, deseeded, and allowed to dry. The ones you're fingering are an animal..and yep, they're dead once out of water.

at the time this was at a point where most places were requiring it I’m not a big fan of it myself I’m a huge conspiracy theorist, but until I know a place is OK with it. I usually wear one in to the store as you can tell by the video I took it off I’m not into it personally but I don’t want people to feel uncomfortable just because I don’t like something some of my family on the other hand. I think they like it as a fashion accessory lol. Nothing too personal. This was filmed almost 2 years ago.
