- ASME Section VIII Division 1 Paragraph UG-28, Figure UG-28, Figure UG-28.1
- ASME Section II Part D Subpart 3, Figure G, Applicable chart, Table 1A, Table Y-1
B. Application: Vacuum condition, tube, others
C. Symbol and Definition of external pressure calculation in the shell: Factor A, Factor B
D. Minimum Required Data: Design external pressure, Design external temperature, Outside diameter, Length of the shell, Material type
E. Step by step calculation
1. Assume t, Calculate L/Do, Do/t
2. Define L/Do
3. Define factor A
4. Define applicable figure and E
5. Define factor B
6. Define Pa using factor B
7. Define Pa using factor A
8. Iterate t until Pa greater than P
F. Study cases: 1.5 MPa, 200 deg C, Do 500 mm, L 1000 mm, Material SA 516 Gr.70

Very nice 👍. I would request you to please make video on U-Tube thickness calculation for external pressure. This should have two case i.e. with differential pressure and without differential pressure. Thanks in Advance 👍

I have a question. What would be the relationship or equation relating External Pressure measured in MPa and Internal Pressure measured as in mbars. For example 1,5 MPa of External Pressure what would it be in mbars of Internal Pressure ?

thanks for the video. i have 1 question: in my case i have a vessel that contain air and water internally (is a priming tank), i know that the water temperature is 50 celsius, but i don´t know the air temperatura. in this case what should i use like design temperature?

For design temperature you have to choose the larger value. You can estimate working temperature of air such as 60 deg C. So, you can determine design temperature 80 deg C
