In terms of biodiversity, The Keys are very distinct from most of the rest of Florida because of their proximity to the Caribbean and warmer ocean currents. For these reasons, the Keys feel and look like a tropical paradise! More species of shells can be found here and in extreme SE Florida, than any other location in the continental United States.
