Hello, this sand can be found in a few locations along the Maine coast, and throughout New England, and is due to the presence of the mineral garnet. The red sand featured in this video is from Cape Elizabeth. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for such a lovely episode. As an artist, the very unique palette, textures created by the salt and calcification and the rugged quality of Maine shells is endlessly inspiring. The Iceland scallop fossil is astonishing. I actually prefer the limited spoken word in your videos, as it creates for me, a sense of calm and wonder, as if one is there in person.

Thank you for the beautiful video. I usually clean my sand dollars in hydrogen peroxide, they don't seem to get as brittle. Sometimes just leave in the sun until they are completely white. I use bleach on my shells, sometimes it leaves a chalky appearance especially on fighting conchs. Any suggestions anyone? Agreed that shells look great when they are wet!

"There is no better experience of finding shells on a beach during the summer..." Your opening statement of this video really says it all. Watched this whole episode and didn't find the need to fast forward or jump around. I just relaxed and let you lead the way...and thanx for letting me tag along...in 4K, of course...

Oh my gosh Brian! You have outdone yourself this time! I have always told you that you put out amazing videos but this is definitely my favorite. The scenery, the ocean, the beach, the shells, the rocks and that awesome music you play is just serene! I haven't been this relaxed in a long time. You and Sharmon are like a therapy for me. Thank you for your love of what you do and for sharing with all of us. You are a blessing!😊❤

Wonderful. I really like how you shoot your videos they are always so peaceful and calm even when the ocean is raging. So many treasures on the beach rocks, sea glass and of course the shells. So pleased the mussels got showcased, they are beautiful. What was the small joined white/nacre looking shell and the bigger joined shell with one side rippled white please, maybe an oyster? Thank you so much for sharing.

Truely enjoyed that beach❣️! So much to look thru, 👀. Love when you stop to do a screen shot. Gives me time to hunt to. And that red sand! I would have taken an oz of that to display on a shelf in a pretty little vial/bottle. I have sand from the phillipines that a coworker brought back for me many yrs ago. Still have it! That little rippling water was awesome on that puddle/inlet?, 👀❤️. Perfect timing. Dumb question, what is done with the muriatic acid afterwards? Is it reusable?

This was so wonderful to watch tonight. I'm in NE Ohio & it's been unseasonably chilly & I haven't been to the beach in 2yrs. You sure found some beauties, and how amazing that you had the whole beach to yourself. I've only experienced that once or twice. Looking forward to your next video, I just subscribed 🐚🪸🌴☺️
