I've been a disabled veteran 40 years, & homeless for the past 30 years. These trolls should lose their freedom, until they learn how to appreciate it. REALLY appreciate it, with years of actions, not just words.

i am ex British Army. i can see the problems our boys and girls have having been to war, we here in the UK have "Regimental Associations" which every solider, sailor and airman joins and when they need help they call there HHQ and they then have all the other members there to support and help........................."God Bless All Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen"

Fantastic documentary 😁 brilliant to see people support each other in this way. Whatever your difficulties in life are , peer support is best, true, genuine, believable and effective. Thanks for sharing this. Wish there was support like this in my country for victims of bullying which is what devastated my life. Instead I ran away and live as a hermit in the Highlands is Scotland in complete solitude. Been homeless, addicted , estranged from family, suicidal but survived and draw hope and strength from watching documentaries online about other lost souls who have made it through 😍 stay happy ladies and gents. Love to all from the beautiful rugged refuge that is Northern Scotland x

It’s so sad to see so many veterans down and out, they deserve all what this country should offer. Personally, I feel no veterans should not be homeless. They risk their lives for this country’s freedom.

I'm a Navy veteran that was diagnosed with MS in 2009. I still haven't qualified for disability and I'm trying to get housing assistance from the center for veteran issues which wanted to put me in a transitional home. I finally convinced them that isn't going to work for me as my MS keeps from functioning as a normal person. It is really hard getting any kind of help from the VA. They make it sound like they're always behind us but I find that it's a long wait and lots of paperwork to get any kind of financial assistance. And I can't get a prescription for medical marijuana which would be a great help for my migraines and muscle spasms. Last December I was written a 250 dollar cititation for having a gram of marijuana on me. Now I'm doing community service to pay my fine. I think it's time for this nation to legalize cannabis in all 50 states and start helping all veterans, rather than just a select few.

I've been a disabled veteran 40 years, & homeless for the past 30 years. The VA is worthless, as we need to start over, from scratch. We have MANY who are well paid to pretend to help the homeless, but NOBODY is helping. Do not be fooled by the pretenders, NOBODY is helping our homeless, veteran or not, disabled or not. If our military would simply honor their oath, with all their guns, cannabis would be legal, included in the right to the pursuit of happiness. How dare you to keep my medicine from me, pretending that I enjoy freedom!

And people are mad when football players kneel during the anthem saying how unpatriotic it is but what about ones that served and are homeless or giving the constant run around from the V.A. Many of the people who complain about the flag protest don't care about homeless vets and would probably shun them if they asked for help on the street.

Manny if there needs to be a kneel for the flag is because of and for these guys , these football plsyers know nothing about oppression or depression . We should both old & young stand up a side with & for these vets . It hits home for me because of my brother . He came bk , from iraq , but he wasnt the same person that left . We need to stop talking & start doing .

I have 21 years of service as a Marine NCO and Army field grade officer. I had the fortune of enjoying Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan! The biggest battle I experienced and greatest wounds I received, were with The Veterans Benefits Administration. For service-connected disability benefits, with rems of medical documentation. The war lasted 4 years, until the VA finally awarded me my earned service-connected disability compensation. Thank you ungrateful America, for your lack of service to disabled veterans!

As an American I’m just in total rage and disbelief. These people payed everything on the line for us and we can’t do anything. We just sit and argue about political correctness. These people gave us the right to be free and we can’t even feed them. This is pitiful. American citizens need to do better. I never joined the military but our veterans don’t deserve this.

The overall importance of command in the soldiers life is also essential in the Veteran's lives which must be their rallying point. Without Command Structure , the efforts to survive will simply fail. Without a worthwhile misson towards some noble cause, to which a dutiful warrior is accustomed to, he finds nothing to dedicate his life for and fall into decay. i see a failure in the general command structure in the military to which they fail to give disclipne, direction and camaraderie to the civilian life of the retired/discharged soldiers which they are in dire need to navigate the quiet firestorm threatening their survival. For example , providing a portion of the military facilities for the general grooming R & R and chow for the vets for those in permanent bivouac. Maintaining daily task list & follow up based on the remaining ABILITIES or INTEREST of the VETS and measuring them up to those task , their last rank or prospective MOS. Each active duty oficer shall be given a vet buddy to engage their welfare responsibility, even those who are dishonorably dischrged and not receiving vet benefits. Military top brass creating peace mission programs such as food production , veterans shelter , industrial production , distribution, maintenance orders etc which will take ALL veteran VOLUNTEERS to operate and sustain for other disabled vets, WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION or any DISQUALIFICATION ! I believe in this kind of service , the military is highly competent and equiped to succeed. Without a worthy battle , an ex-soldier simply fades away feeling his life shamefully lost of all its meaning & value. the Commander in Chief and General Command should never let this happen. for the vets always have a continuing DUTY & OATH and that is to defend USA against all kinds of enemies like injustice, vagrancy, hunger, crimes, unproductiveness, idleness, depression, disease and dishonorable conduct which can bring down a robust nation crumble into oblivion like the empires of the past. DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY, PEACE, LOVE must reverb when living on the battlefield of civilian life through BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS & JOY ! Semper Fi ! ,,,,, O.O.I.A.O. !
