Shelter Dog Field Trip Day! 🐾 Kaua'i Humane Society Field Trip Program - How It Works

If you ever visit the island of Kauai, you HAVE to check out the Humane Society's shelter dog field trip program!
This program helps shelter dogs get their energy out, socialize, and potentially get adopted! All while we get to enjoy having a furry friend for the day. And if you fall in love with your pup, the Humane Society will help arrange their transportation to the mainland! Talk about a win win! 🐶
As a healthcare traveler currently working on the island, landing this dream gig meant I had to part ways with my fur child while she vacations at grandma's. Missing her is an understatement.. When a few of my friends shared an IG post about this program, I couldn't resist signing up to take a local shelter dog on an adventure. 🐕 Neither could Jamie! We were lucky enough to be matched with two energetic kennel buddies for our day hike.

So true! I don’t know if it is all Humane Societies, but I take them out for field trips in OKC and the dogs are always happy to return.

Was thinking the same thing! I’d love to own a dog but it’s not a shared sentiment by my wife! This would be a terrific alternative if they do that here in Canada. Except the part where I have to bring them back😢

Never knew something like this was a thing. I don't think anywhere around here where I live (in Mississippi) does that, as far as I know at least. But I bet they always enjoy the little field trips!

We did this too. We took out a pitbull named Corey. Took him too several beaches and parks for the day. Its hard to return them back to shelter though. So many in need. Great program.

Hi Sarah hope you are well. Apologies for messaging on t your latest post. However I was just after some honest feedback on you Ecoflow system i followed your build and all looked amazing. I’m from the uk and looking for the same Ecoflow system but can’t find anyone to give honest feedback. If you have time I would truly appreciate that. Thank you enjoy

No worries! Overall I really enjoy the EcoFlow system and user friendliness, ease of installation, etc. I will say, I feel like the system discharges pretty fast though. Right now, my van is being maintained by my family in Florida while I'm in Hawaii. All that's running is a small dehumidifier (off the inverter), the fridge, and the heater occasionally. I instructed them to plug it into charge once it drops down to 20% and they told me they have to plug it in to charge every 3-4 days. And that's with 350 watts of solar on the roof too. On the bright side, when you plug it in, it only takes about 2-3 hours to charge with a 15amp outlet (although the monitor predicts around 6 hours). That's the only negative feedback I have about the system. Hope this helps!
