I just finished watching all 84 videos of your barn journey. Took me a couple of weeks, but I got 'er done. I had to persevere through them all because that's what you were doing. I'm not typically very patient. But you've helped me see the value of the slow and steady trek toward a valuable goal. Thanks for bringing me along. It was worth the effort. And congratulations on a job very well done.

A shovel hanging outside your barn would be handy when you arrive so you can clear away some snow before entering. Maybe some kind of simple mount for it on the wall next to the door ? Love that snowy, brisk and refreshing weather. And the cosy stove inside. Lovely :-)

Very inspiring series. Helped me decide to try a very similar build myself. Currently still making the concrete foundation and milling the timber. Would love to see a video where you talked about the current state of the barn and if you would have anything different should you build it again. Truly enjoyed your videos Best regards Lasse

Beautiful landscape!! So I tried an experiment in my shop a couple of days ago. The overnight temperature was -5 F and then it "warmed" up to +20 F during the day. The wood stove in the shop wasn't keeping up. However, the wood stove in combination with the gas forge warmed up the shop nicely, around 60 F. Perfect temp for working. I'm thinking of replacing the wood stove in the future. Did your wood stove heat the barn enough for you?
@GreatPlainsCraftsman5 жыл бұрын
Yes it did, not to slipper weather but good for working!
@ironcladranchandforge72925 жыл бұрын
@@GreatPlainsCraftsman -- Excellent !! I did notice that when I turned off the gas forge it cooled off quickly. However, it seemed to hover around 50 F for some time, which is good enough for me. Next, I'll see what the coal forge does.......

Where is the percolating coffee pot that sits on top of the stove? I use mine all of the time when it's cold outside. To me, it's better than the drip brew pots. Could this be because I'm in my dinky "man cave", working on my projects or is it because it actually brews a better pot of coffee??
