So this was early days. You can tell because MISA is playing her four string Fender deluxe jazz and Akane is playing her one up, one down Sonor kit. The day for this shoot came and it was really cold. And when they got to the beach it was freezing cold. But they didn’t have enough money to reschedule and they’re not the type to give up no matter what. Oh, and Akane and Kanami both caught fire a bit.

Yes, I forgot about that. They did catch fire. They were literally freezing their ass off there. By the way, this song is a really really good song. Listen carefully and read the lyrics. It's a great song despite they didn't write it.

Between shots they were wearing stadium coats - ankle-length down parkas. IIRC Akane, Kanami, and Misa all managed to catch their coats on fire trying to warm up by getting closer to the flames. Nobody knows how Klutzy Kobato survived. Michael, if you like this MV's location, the one for "Endless Story" will blow your mind. I'm sure somebody already put it in the hat.

God this song slaps. Doesn't get reacted to as much as some more popular tracks but it's one of my favorites. Weirdly enough the instrumental reminds me of some post-hardcore music I've listened to. Like I could legitimately see the chorus instrumental being used in an Escape the Fate song. The little darker bridge bit also just perfectly slots in with a lot of modern metal. This may not be their "heaviest" song but it's one of their songs that most fits in with the trends of modern heavy music.

The styles have changed over the last 40 years since Heavy Metal was born. BAND-MAID does not really fit into that conventional breakdown of styles, that's for sure. It's much heavier than the classical hard rock, but it's not gloomy enough to be considered heavy metal. And they themselves have denied that they are metal, which makes sense. One thing we can say for sure: there are very, very few bands out there which are as energetic as BAND-MAID. There are some bands, which are more on the punk side of the spectrum, like Otoboke Beaver or Bleach03 / 385, but they can't provide that energy systematically. It's like a short outburst, and they either go to something calmer, or just disappear as a band after the members turn 30 y.o. BAND-MAID, on the other hand, is providing this energy as a part of a careful plan drawn by Kanami, and they are climbing new heights with every release. I pray they will continue this onward march, and soon the world will be dominated by them!

This is not the end. I get a funny feeling this next album will produce some great videos and Band-Maid will keep going after this album. They have much more to come. They are an awesome, incredible music machine.

Top 5 song for me and this is probably still my favorite solo, and they really nailed the tone on the rhythm guitar. The breakdown/transition sections are really what make this song absolutely great. You asked for Passcode songs that are not really on the radar for being reactions so that you can just listen to them, do you want the same for Band-Maid? Shake That!! is very underrated older song of theirs that has another one of my favorite breakdown/solo sections. It that has no MV and not sure if there is even a live shot.

We reacted to Different already. New stuff will be reacted to when it comes out and we have time. Currently Michael only comes over to record once a week (typically friday nights) and we pre record a weeks worth of videos then.

@@MichaelReactstoMusic Different is great but “Don’t be long” and “After life” imo are much better tracks. Infact, I daresay these 2 are among the best from the 80+ tracks they’ve released till date. Especially for hard rock fans, these are BM at their finest. After life is already trending and the numbers are shooting up like crazy on Spotify, almost caught upto different despite its recent release and not having an MV to help promote it.

I love wonderland as their soft song, which is jazzy, bluesy ballad. Have you done matchless gum yet? It's an underrated gem. Non-fiction days has groove, but a bit off. It doesn't sound really band-maid.

It's funny that you bring up the wind blowing the fire in this video. Akane actually had her dress catch on fire while they were filming this. It was very cold and she was trying to get a little warmth by getting closer to the fire, and her dress got a bit burnt in the process. She was fine though, the only casualty was her dress.

We call that a fainted heart :-) Come on guys, show some stamina, there are only some 60+ left you haven't done including some heavy weights in their catalogue - some did mention them already - like Choose me or Alone or Freezer or Order or Wonderland or Anemone or ... well thanks anyway for the enjoyable Band-Maid journey. I'll continue to the peak and if you like to turn back halfway, what about some more Nemophila, Gacharic Spin, Mary's Blood or discover Glim Spanky or Polkadot Stingray or why not a Passcode Thuesday, let's say for three months only. Would that be okay? :-)

We have a lot of that also in the hat. The thing with doing 1 band every week is it is taking away from folks who want us to check out more and more stuff from other bands. Our hat is insanely full, and at the rate that we do randoms, it will take easily a full year with no further requests for fulfill folks requests. Imagine requesting a song and us not reacting to it for a year. We want to kind of knock those number down. We will also be going live towards the end of the month to do a couple hours of reactions non stop to help this situation.

to be fair, Gion Cho is Band Maiko, and we put that in the hat. Other BM songs will go into our hat. We still listen to BM on Spotify. We just arent doing regular reactions to them. we apologize.

I would have thought something was wrong with you if you liked Start Over. I think they are the greatest band in the world and I can't stand Start Over. They should delete that song from existence and that would make them perfect. Start Over was an abomination. Yeah, I said it.

I thought it was classic band-maid for them to pick and perform it for their Dec livestream concert. With 93 songs to pick from they still chose Start Over. They do what they want to do. Heh heh.

You have to listen to it as audio-only, so that the MV does not distract you. MV is a bit stupid, in my opinion. That hysterical girl throwing up a tantrum... I have a huge sympathy for that poor man who had to deal with it. But it's a very good song, in fact. I would say, they have always had this type of style in their magazine, and at a certain moment they have just decided to start loading their guns with this type of a shell. [start over] was the test version, and then it grew up into Wonderland. I hope they will provide more songs of this sort, with that jazzy feel, I actually like it pretty much. They touched it briefly in LOOK AT ME very early in their career, but they have not really pursued it back then.

I kinda like Start Over as just a change-up. My "delete that song" would be Don't Let Me Down but it's mainly because the lyrics are SOOOO mindlessly raunchy for no reason. Nothing like the lyrics Miku writes.

I love Start Over because I'm into great writing and well constructed songs, especially B-M's work. The jewelry store ad MV, not so much. Songs like Daydreaming, Wonderland, Page, and Start Over will help them more than most of their catalog to become more approachable and widely accepted. Look at the tens to hundreds of millions of views idol, hip hop and pop receive. You don't have to be hard core anything to bob and weave to a lot of these type of, ah... "songs?" I'm afraid the kind of songs I love, the Band-Maid, Warning and Jinjer -type songs, will remain a tiny, tiny niche - like a sea slug in the ocean of teaming pop life. @@TomClark-Futoura Start over was horrible and so unlike them. It was poorly written which is also unlike them. Conqueror was only a half good album and is not that popular because of it. Judging from the preview of the new album, they are not taking your advice. Thank God. There is a huge market for Rock. They are not an idol band, nor a Kpop band. They are a real band with real musicians who look like they love what they're doing and are pursuing success their own way. They'll get it too without selling out. They are the best rock band in the world, not the best Scandal imitation in the world. But to each their own as the saying goes.

The mix in the MV does not do justice to the song. Miku's background vocals are so low. The live version is the zepp concert is superior.
