Why they didn't give this guy the mega-push after that classic match vs HBK on RAW that had everyone buzzing is beyond me. That to this day is a top 5 match in RAW history.

Scott Broyles I say the same thing. Easily one of the best matches RAW has ever had. But its like he said ''Maybe there is no brass ring for everyone''. Which is sad, but so true. But i'm glad he went to NJPW, they added to his talent, its made him an even better wrestler there than he would be in wwe. He's one of the best in the world really.

Davon-Jashawn Johnson I wish. Over 50 live events & that was the only time we ever scored front row. Still got my ticket stub, program & photos from 25 feet away that I never got developed out of respect. I didn't see him fall because there was a promo on the titantron & it was between matches but I saw a blue flash out of the corner of my eye & heard a huge BAM. Looked over & he raised his head off the mat laid it down slowly & that was it. Lawler ran to him & waved in help from the back. There was a guy sweeping up the ring after the Al Snow Bob Holly hardcore match that he missed by about 2 feet & he ran out of there like he was in a swarm of bees. We didn't even know it was Owen until they removed the Blueblazer mask because he & Jeff Jarrett were alternating the roll. They did 5 minutes of CPR & when they ran him to the back his face was totally purple. I've never seen the PPV on tape but apparently they announced it pretty quick on TV but never announced to the live audience that he didn't make it.

*It couldn't have been about charisma because Shelton Benjamin had **_that_** in-ring ability which exceeded any promo skills that he lacked. Shelton's best years were from 2004-07. In 2006, RVD became a double (ECW & WWE) Champion... he NEVER had any charisma or charismatic promos but he was a heck of a worker. So was Rey Mysterio when he won the WHC in '06. The writers intentionally had Shelton running in circles.*

I hope Shelton gets what he hopes for. He was one of my favorite wrestlers ever. Lance George Shelton definitely had the charisma for a major title. Even if he had a small run, I could have definitely seen him as a babyface turned heel after winning the heavyweight title. For a while Benjamin was the dude to watch. Great combination of heavy grapple moves and high flying moves. I used to always jump out of my seat when he hit the t-bone suplex. To me Shelton is the biggest piece of evidence that Vince McMahon is racist. I don’t think he hates black people, but he definitely treats his black stars different. I think he expects more of them character wise and not everyone is going to be Dwayne Johnson. Shelton had so much more charisma than fucking Randy Orton or Brock Lesnar, and even more talent than both. More talent than Batista and Cena too. Vince recognized his greatness and just thought “I’ll use him as a great mid carder.” He absolutely should’ve at least taken the strap off Triple H. Edit: but even when they give him more character, and are even a world champion else where, like R-Truth who’s even good friends with Vince, can’t reach that brass ring. Good for guys like Lashley and Big E and Kofi cause apparently Vince has lost some of the control he has had in the past or something to make things different, makes me sad af for Shelton though cause he for real should’ve been a mega star.

he won the ic belt, u.s belt and was tag team. if he won the wwe/heavyweight he would have won grand slam champion award.

When he ran up the ladder to do a clothesline on chris jericho i i think at WM21 that shit was so epic they made it so you could simulate that in SDvsRaw 2006

As far as I'm concerned, this man is a "Macho Man" Randy Savage of the 21st century. Consummate heel and that's a good thing. He does everything that a wrestler can and should do. I am PRO Shelton Benjamin now and always.

This guy was without a doubt one of the best pure wrestlers in that locker room, HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A WORLD CHAMPION!!!! But Vince fucked him in the ass like SO many talents

I agreed with what you said in the description about Cena being boring on the mic and hasn't done anything different until you said that Austin was sloppy in the ring and that Cena has better mic skills than Austin. Lol really? My ass

I love Shelton Benjamin! One of the most underrated wrestlers ever! And, screw the story line! I watch wrestling to see wrestling, not a story or someone who can run their mouth. If you want a story and some drama watch a freaking movie or a reality TV show. This is exactly why wrestling sucks these days, there trying to make a movie instead of wrestling.... The main focus in wrestling is supposed to be wrestling, not a stupid, ridiculous story.
@95ogaitnas9 жыл бұрын
+kwS37 WWE is sports entertainment, WWE does not equal wrestling. I don't understand why people get so up in arms about storylines in the WWE. They have branded themselves as a sports entertainment company for years now. Wrestling does not suck these days, take a look at all of the major indie promotions because they are wrestling-oriented and not storyline-oriented. Sounds to me like you should just stick to watching wrestling promotions and not WWE because there will always be storylines involved in the WWE. I'm not saying that you watch WWE, but outside of WWE there aren't many American promotions that specifically focus on storylines besides TNA.

It's a damn shame he didn't get the title shots he deserved. People always say "He had no charisma" So by that logic, we should just forget about Khali, Reigns, guys with little charisma, little mic skill, and little wrestling ability, guys who were both pushed to the fucking moon at one point. But one of the best wrestlers to ever step in a WWE ring can't break midcard status? Whatever, Vince. I'm glad Triple H is slowly taking over, he's breaking the mold of "Super Heavyweight/Bodybuilder/Built like a God/White"

A lot people say the Rock was an African American champion which is not totally true because he's part Hawaii. Ron Simmons and Booker won belts from WCW which made them the first to do so but WWE never. Benjamin would have been a great champion he has the athleticism and could perform with anyone.
@MrDp1159 жыл бұрын
Christopher Moore Hawaii is a an American state not a different country, I think you're trying to day Rock is half Samoan. Btw biracial doesn't mean he's not one or the other it means he's both

If Booker T & Shelton weren't WWE Champions I sure as hell hope Apollo Crews will one day be WWE Champ that guy is the full package & if he's over when he's moved up to the main roster & doesn't win the belt the WWE is straight racist.

Vince is a person that just doesn't recognize real athletes, because he completely destroyed the cruiserweight division. Believe when I say" Benjamin and the other highfliers would sell way more tickets, than big wrestlers like John Cena. cause he doesn't have any real skills. Benjamin brings excitement and Cena move set is just like Hunters. It's always the same and now it's old and boring

The same way the wwf drew inspiration from Deon Sanders with the rock i think with just how intensely talented Shelton was he would have been a great blabbermouth heel doing his best impression of hyper insanely competitive Shannon Sharpe in his prime. It could have worked if they treated it seriously.

I dont know any other reason than he is black for WWE not pushing Shelton benjamin. He is a tremendous talent in the ring and his promo- mic skills have gotten way better. WWE fucked him over. Best sweet chin music spot thanks to this man. He would be a great opponent for Lesnar right now. But he would expose Cena for how much he sucks in the ring. Shelton is a great wrestler period

This is the exact type of shit I've been talking about for years. Black superstars no matter how over they become will hit a brick wall, disappear for a little while, then come back as something stupid if they come back at all.
