He did well to stay composed but should have said "I'll be opening a civil claim for unlawful detainment" the copper would probably reply "that's fine". well, it's not fine actually. The police are costing tax payers for every claim. It needs to stop. That police stop was pathetic. It was blatant prejudice towards him. Just because the police say some it doesn't mean its right. They say all the things he said to cover their arse to get away with detaining someone. I've seen claims of 5 grand go through. No problem regularly. Looking at a police van is no crime, nor is it suspicious behaviour. The met police are cocky arrogant and need to be challenged more.

If they don't provide a stop and search slip the search is completely unlawful it is all recorded and everyone is entitled to a copy of the search for it to be lawful because everything is documented but sadly police abuse that especially to people who aren't aware of their rights etc

They can say it was impractical to give him a slip one at the time due to something else kicking off. But it should still be recorded. He can go and ask for the copy later. 9/10 it won't have been done. It'll only have a description of him and the time ,location and date cos he wouldn't give his name.
