Oh my goodness. I laughed throughout the whole video. This video verifies IT'S NOT JUST ME!!! A previous dancer myself, these weird habits stay with you forever. Thank you for sharing this.

OMG yes!!! I still do these weird things. Laughed so hard at this video. Life long habits! I still put my leg up the wall when I brush my teeth in the morning. 🤣

Although retired, everyone knows me AND my friends. We have a habit of breaking out into dance anytime we hear music we like. Whether it’s a car that goes by or we are in a store and suddenly a jam comes on we all look at each other and next thing you know, it’s a party! Oh! And Don’t let it be a piece we performed to! OMG! LET THE SHOW BEGIN! My poor husband just sits down and waits until it’s over. He likes to give me details of the looks people give us! I love it! Keeps us young!🎉🎉

I am a professional dancer and I can relate to every single one of these reenactments. I use most downtime opportunities to stretch, on the floor and against a wall. I'm marking choreography while standing in a line at the store or pumping gas, etc. Also, when just standing around I releve, passe, tendu, battement to work on balance. People who know me know that I can't just be still. Those who don't always ask "what are you doing?" or "that looks cool". ❤❤❤❤

3:49 #5 - this reminds me of myself decades ago... I’d avoid bending knees at all cost. Yet after years of severe overuse and numerous operations done I have developed mild form of arthritis on both knees which is actually not that uncommon among older dancers. Now I cannot stand not moving them just to keep ‘em well lubricated. I’d be randomly squatting all over the places like nobody’s watching. Do y’all know any older dancer/s who has this kind of habit?

5:28 number 7 !!! I can totally relate to this. Especially dancer/s who were forced to create illusion by extending his/her movements and constantly having to overcome shortcomings tend to have an Eagle eye. Some of them have better tape measure than an iPhone app

He is right you must use your knees to pick up something on the floor

I am not a dancer...but I do stretch while watching TV or while listening to some podcast or music. I also don't always bend my knees when I pick up something from the floor...unless it is heavy. The kicking while sleeping is funny...

Stretching is a good habit :) You’re probably pretty flexible ☺️
@marcaribe5084 Жыл бұрын
I can relate pretty much with the stretching at the beginning, but not because I’m a graceful dancer, but because I work in front of a computer and three monitors for 8 hours. And also, I’m just weird.

Though I’m not a professional dancer, I totally relate to the need to move and stretch and crack your joints! I’m 66, and love to do weight lifting and hiking. I look around at others when I’m sitting with a group, and they all seem perfectly comfortable sitting still for long periods of time . I don’t get it!

I'm not a dancer, but I'm more flexible than the average untrained person, and if my shoelaces come undone, I retie them without bending my legs. I guess also I pick light things up that way because it's easier, but I never paid much attention to it. The shoelaces thing I notice because I'm in the position longer.

Walking with turned-out feet is rather unflattering, especially when observed in females. This gait, often seen in dancers, is a habit I consider particularly inappropriate for everyday walking.
