I doubted he is a master of improv. Anyone can do improv as long as you know music theory. And I praise him for that because learning music theory is never easy. Master of Improv Nah there's a lot of musician who are good in doing improv. And +points to him having a perfect pitch.

He was such a fan he played with Frank for seven years after earning an audition by transcribing all his music while he was in college. Frank v actually helped Steve build his home studio and taught him to keep not only his writing but his publishing too. And that's how flexable came to be. So thanks to that and Steve's work we can see stuff like this

His confidence is amazing. I love how into himself he is, but It’s not cringe worthy. I mean, he’s Steve FREAKING Vai!!! Really outstanding to see how you can take a couple rhythms and riffs and create a song so “effortlessly” and I say effortlessly in quotations because they’re professional musicians with decades of training amongst them. He made a musical concept beforehand and broke it down into parts for the "volunteers" to bring in. The guy singing the bass line had some trouble remembering the melody he had been told. The girls in skirts knew they were coming on stage come on. As pre-arranged as it can get.

The guitar was actually brought out into the public arena first by black women. Rosetta Tharp, Beverly Watkins, Elizabeth Cotten and Peggy Jones. Then black men who further developed the blues and rock template. The white man is the new kid on the block inheriting the rich history and works done by their black brothers and sisters. What's intriguing is in 1789 Carl Ludvig Junker declared that the guitar should only be played by women as it was not as physically demanding as orchestral instruments. That way women of the day could preserve their dignity and shape. I don't disagree! The guitar in every essence is made for women. The fact that men took it up is a strange phenomenon.
