@@JiggleBill their music has no solos, save for when they bring in someone else to do them like in Nasty, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise. I think improvisation simply isn't something they've worked on that much as opposed to playing interesting riffs and melodies. They're very creative musicians, but they're better as composers/performers than as improvisers. Which isn't bad, many classical musicians are amazing at what they do but have no idea about improvisation either. They might get better if Vai keeps bringing them on stage though hahaha.

As somebody who has personally worked with Tim & Scott, I can confirm that they are the hardest and smartest workers I know and they wouldn’t be on that stage if they didn’t truly deserve the recognition they’ve gotten thus far 😤😤 they’ve got some of the strongest creative muscles in the game, and I’m incredibly honored to know em and feel the passion and brain and heart they put into their work

Paul G is so impressive. Just incredible. And Nita Strauss looks like she belongs right up there with Vai and the rest even though she is a younger player.

I like how Joe played a nice pentatonic based solo and refrained from playing blistering fast legato licks most of the time.

I guess Boomer Bends ain't so easy after all( please read as a good natured joke). However, in all fairness I love what Polyphia is doing for guitar, the fresh new takes and ideas are needed for the art to grow. I love Tim's style and his playing. They are young players and will only get better with time.

I mean he sure displays enourmous talent (even at parts in this video). Im sure if he would had used more distortion it would had sound way better. But in the context of him beein in like THE mathrock band it was just not a good performance. Its really funny tho seeing people getting so incredible defennsive over this well lacking performance.

Mr. Gilbert was the most unique and diverse individual on that stage. Satriani, same ol same ol.
@81giorikas4 жыл бұрын
OH come on...this is retarded. I mean gilbert is great but his solo was nothing really special here anyway... Satriani is feeling man, along with his own trademark shred lines of course. I actually think every guitarist here did good vs other jams lol. But satriani is amazing, every note is different and yet to the point even if he plays the same solo on known songs every night...kind of like the opposite of a million guitar players nowadays to be honest.
@drewmiller34624 жыл бұрын
@@81giorikas Are you Satriani feeling man butt hurt about this? My opinion. Get over it. "Retarded" is a sad over reaction. Satriani is way full of himself while Gilbert is really funny and well rounded regarding style. Didn't mean to make you cry .
@81giorikas4 жыл бұрын
@@drewmiller3462 No problem man you can dream of sucking gilbert any day. Hurt jokes aside, I really, REALLY can't believe you are actually claiming this about satriani foremost and gilbert secondly. Those two have done jam after jam after jam and have an amazing back of tricks to set up a solo but, those tricks they pull out of there aren't always great or cool or whatever. Satriani also fails at times as well no doubt about that but it is this randomness that makes these performances alive. HOWEVER, in this instance, to claim he didn't actually pull the slow rythm parts and got them going uptempo analyzing chords in between while jamming etc, oh come on man, he did great. If you are enjoying slamming satriani because many people do then cool, just go fuck yourself with an old gay asshole in the corner or something. And something else, gilbert didn't really had a good solo here and there is no way about it. It was ok and as generic as it goes. No problem he has done great jams pretty much most of the times, I don't have a problem with gilbert but he didn't really do nothing of meaning here. If you see the video again, you'll see it was vai himself who prompted satriani to go ahead and take the spotlight. Check the singled out videos of this performance on the same youtube account, see how people loved it. Now go in the corner and enjoy yourself lol.
