The same can be done with Jianmin when sparring. I don't remember how exactly, but you can hit him with the tornado kick if you set it up right. It doesn't do anything, just makes this slapping sound and everything moves on.

It looks like wude translates to "martial morality" and according to Wikipedia it is real in Chinese martial arts. The acutal wude looks to be different than in the game and there seems to be more than four. The only one I see that's in the game is "Yi".
