Shenmue missables in order - scenes, moves, trophies and point of no return explained

I have found all of these by playing the game 20x times since it released. I's much more fun to randomly find these but it depends who likes replaying games or not. I have liked not knowing because that way there's been something new to discover on each playthrough and to rediscover old ones i don't remember.

I had no idea there was a third Enoki fight. This is pretty interesting and informative. Now I know what to look out for the next time I play "Shenmue."

It’s best just to buy the kitten tuna to make it happy faster. And if you do it enough you can get Nozomi to help fight Enoki and his friend in the park when they’re harassing the little boy.

Fantastic video! I would always go to that Enoki Fight 3 area every night, trying to trigger that one, not knowing when it would work or what the requirements were.. its a very specific window but i would always forget by the next playthrough! Same thing with the cutscene involving the 2 friends visiting the house, think I only ever saw it once. So rare! Almost impossible to ever stumble across it by accident I think you missed a few more though, eg. The QTE with the drunk sailor in Dobuita at night, around the bar area

awesome job! i've never seen the map of old warehouse cutscene until your vid. i think you got all the missable cutscenes except the tiger scroll (hidden in hazuki dojo) at russiya antique shop (xiuyu xia)

Yeah, I never discovered it until researching this video, as I always knew where to go every time (I watched a friend play through the game before I owned a copy). Such a cool revelation!

On a second watch, I think you missed the stab armor from the basement and the mysterious scroll from behind the wall plaque and then ring WH8 to get them both translated by Guizhang. :) still a great video!

I believe both aren't missable - you can return to the basement at any time if I'm not mistaken?

Amazing video! After playing so many times since Dreamcast days I think I’ve seen them all apart from the friends turning up at the Hazuki Residence 😅 Do you plan to do one for Shenmue 2?

@@Crazyreyn I’m always finding new things when I play too, which is incredible for a game that’s 25 years old… it’s also fun watching others play as they don’t have the same muscle memory and walk different ways/talk to different people and stumble across other new bits

There is a scene in disc 2 involving a drunk sailor...something Phillips I think. I'm not sure how to trigger it, only done it once.

Brilliant video Matthew! Nice to have something like this to easily reference as I normally have to lug out the prima guide :D Just one extra thing when you were showing of the differences from the date, did you know about the Cherry Blossom tree at the end of March early April which then leads to the bad ending. You probably missed the window, which is easily done. Thankfully it’s at the start of the game, so won’t take long to reach if you start a new save later and go straight there.

One day! This video was way more work than I expected (I had to restart a few times to double / triple check certain elements) and didn't want to get burnt out on a game I love, but I hope to get round to a Shenmue 2 one before too long. Thanks for asking!
