this song encompases every feeling I have for Shenmue. the slow, almost mellow beginning, when you start exploring Dobuita and the rest of the world and meet all those silly talking town people for the first time, the epic intersections are all those tense moments when you fight the baddies to advance the story line. and the last part where your guts immediately tell you something special to your heart is coming to an end. that's the entire Shenmue 2 for me from the moment when you left Japan. I remember playing Shenmue 2 having this strange feeling in the back of my head this game will leave me begging for more. I so didn't want to finish it because of that. I even purposely delayed playing last chapter just so the experience would last longer. this is hands down the best song from both games IMHO. such a shame it all ended so prematurely =''( then again, hope always dies last, so maybe someday in our lifetime ='}

Finally, I found this masterpiece after almost 20 years of search! Now my life seems like it's complete... I have no words to describe the beauty of this. Just, listen and let yourself be transported. In addition to that, the erhu you hear (which binds soooo well with the orchestra btw) is played by Jia Peng Fang, one of the most famous chinese erhu players! @DKRCecer Exactly i got the exact feeling from the meldoy , like everything is looking dark but its not over yet type of feeling... Classical music is the most beautiful music of any genre , its the music of this existence.. Why these musicians dont get recognized for this beautiful compositions while garbage like todays musicians do, is WAYYYY beyond me. Its sad.

Hans zimmer obviously inspired by this i say, shares a resembalence to the last samurai soundtrack, which is my favourite soundtrack of all time. Shenmue comes close second.
