There was a version that played in the game in the streets of Dobuita only when Ryo is walking around outside during the holidays, it was a short looped version. I can't find that version anywhere not even on this channel.

I brought my Dreamcast just to play Shenmue, then got devastated when Dreamcast went under, then ecstatic when Xbox picked up Shenmue 2. Just wonderful, engrossing games that laid the foundations for open world games we see today. The South Carmain Quarter music is my favorite song from the whole series. When I joined the navy and got the opportunity to live in Japan for six years (first in Sasebo, then in Yokosuka), I realized that Shenmue 1 is very accurate with its descriptions of the pier and "shady" places to hang out at night. LOL. Thanks for the upload. It's now in my KZbin music playlist for my car.
