Sounds eerily similar to Hachiko, the akita.

It does but both stories are True, both happened, but sheps end was a lot worse than Hatchi's end. I believe Hatchi died a lot more peacefully Where as Shep met his end, walking alone the tracks , and it was icy and he didn't hear the train right away.. I learned about Shep when i was in 3rd grade here in montana.
