Actually a full renegade play through will allow Mordin to live because Wrex and Eve are aren't alive, so renegade Shep can convince Mordin that curing the genophage is a bad idea.

I actually cried when my Shepard killed Mordin. My Shepard had to do it based on her code of ethics and a desire to stop the Reapers at any cost... but that doesn't make it any less tragic.

What a sad ending. Must have been horrible for Mordin to die after having been shot and betrayed by your commander, and feel he does not have enough time or strength to undo his life's greatest mistake.
