Rob Balmer had started writing Shephetd Boy the night he passed away. He sent the partial work in an email to Ivan Parker just before he was hit and killed. After Rob's funeral Ivan Parker and I finished writing the rest of Shephetd Boy.

Such a beautiful song, read through the comments and I was little bit confused as to why one comment said they are putting ray in their prayers, then I kinda did a bit of research and now I get it. The funny thing is that, I've listened to this song like since I was baby, I've known the words off by heart but for some reason today the words really pulled at my heart strings.

I did the exact same thing 2 weeks ago . I listened to all his songs in early 90's and then pulled away from the lord,so when I read what happened I was devastated until the holy spirit convicted my heart and reminded me how god takes all situations good or bad and turns them for his glory.how many souls that would probably never listen to his music before but now will and repent and give there hearts to god

Eversince I listened to Ray Boltz's songs, he has become one of my favorites. Undoubtedly, God has given him this platform to bless God and bless mankind and lead others to Christ. But it does nut mean that He is untouchable by the enemy. We all are weak vessels at some point, and the devil is roaming around seeking someone whom he may devour. It pains my heart that he fell into this trap but we can help him through spiritual warfare on his behalf. This also, does not mean he was a fake Christian, and so were his songs. NO! His songs are still, until today 2021, one of my favorites. And will always be.
