Shepherd Girl's Life: Herding Sheep, Embracing Nature - How Does She Live?

In this video, we meet Ulyana, the only female shepherd in Ukraine. Discover how a shepherd differs from a traditional herder-Ulyana not only pastures but also breeds sheep and goats, caring for them with love and attention. She knows how to provide first aid to her animals and is always accompanied by her loyal companions, the shepherd dogs Chombar and Malyuk. Ulyana takes pride in her herd of over four hundred sheep and goats and shares with us the captivating moments of her everyday life in nature.

I am from Kerala state in India and lives in Calicut city. I am now 76 years old. In our childhood days, we have 2 goats and 10 chickens, besides a cat and a dog. This is the case in almost all houses. Nearly 30 % of people owned cows as well. But, due to urbanization and also after break up of joint family system thousands of nuclear families formed with small pieces of land. Now very few raises goats and chicken in cities. I am very fond of this type of peaceful life with nature. Congratulations to the brave girl who raises 400 sheeps and goats. With lots of love from India. N.Hemaraj, Calicut city, India.

Nice to meet someone with a shared interest from Kozhikode 🤝 So true, we were all in some ways self sufficient; abundant fresh water, coconut trees, cows, chickens, paddy field, mangoes... And joint families. I'd blame industrialisation and globalisation for destroying everything. You know, the elites don't want us to control anything, they want us to be dependent on them. @@Purrringcat Yes friend. Our paddy fields are filled millions of paddy fields are converted into garden lands and people constructed houses there. Government ignored these activities and took action very late. This is one of the reasons for flood during rainy season. Very sad state of affairs.
