Two years later and it's still very hard to find his music. His style, his tone, his phrasing are really different and melodic. He's a cut above the rest of the sacred steel players.

He's amazing. All thumb! Pretty sure he is playing in C tuning with the fifth on top. Dobro tuning transposed up a fourth. CEGCEG low to high. What's really cool is if you slow it down to 75% you can really hear what he's doing and how great his groove and timing are. And yeah, it sounds a lot like Dickie Betts playing with the Allman Brothers when you hear it slowed down. I think he's also manipulating the volume knob with his right hand while playing.

It’s a Fender Studio Deluxe lap steel. The deluxe comes with 3 legs, the Fender Champion is a lap steel w no legs.
