Sherco 500 Factory - I bail on this hill ):

I head out with four mates for a single trail ride in one of our local area's. It pretty hot and the hills are pretty steep. With no armour on I decide not to tackle one of the hills and chicken out. Sad but true...... LMFAO. I found it hard with overgrown trails, no seat time on single trail and a new bike with the wrong gearing. Pretty worn out and sore at the end of the day. The good news is I am loving the Sherco. Two strokes are always better in tight single trail but the Sherco 500 held its own and has turned out to be a great purchase.

Nice one Darth, looks like tough conditions on a hot day. You never regret a wise decision, good call to skip the big hill. How did the bike perform?

Bike went well I have given it a test on then open road, flowing single trail and now tighter single trail and I am very happy with the purchase.

Steve I wondered if you could reduce the seat height of your Sherco 500 whether this would make you feel more comfortable going up really steep hills. If you have to stop or you are forced to stop you would feel confident that you will be able to get your feet to the ground easily and not fall over. The other advantage is that you would feel more confident going at a lower speed and be able to pick or change your line if you wish to. Thanks for the video.

Yeah good call Pete. It is more a lack of seat time in the tight stuff and on the Sherco in particular. Only had a MX jersey and no armour so was playing it pretty safe. Thanks for watching Regards Steve

PLEASE TELL ME, IF YOU COMPARE THIS SHERCO 500 WITH 350 MODELS (FOR EXAMPLE, KTM 350)), DOES IT FEEL MUCH HEAVIER?

Yeah very good question. The 350's have become very popular for very good reason. They say almost the same power as a 450 but they handle almost like a 250. Had a 350 Xcf at one stage and yes it did have a much lighter feel than the Sherco 500. It was a brilliant bike in the open stuff but would overheat and flame out in the technical stuff. The Exc 350 would be a more versatile option. The Beta 480 has a very lite feel to it but the Sherco and KTM 500's do have a bit more inertia to them. Realistically no deal breaker either way but base your choice where U ride and your weight. If your over 100kgs your starting to work the 350 a bit. Like wise if you ride mainly open roads and fire trails the 500 would be a better option. A little bit of self analysis of your situation is required. Hope this helps Regards Steve

@@andrewgreen1181 Yep well done. Gold Star lol. Rode there years ago and was much better but a bit flogged out now. Bit of hard enduro stuff tucked away there as well but definitely need a 2T for that and a lot more fitness
