Personal notes: 1. Vitamin B3 (niacinamide) reduces inflammation (especially if you have acne). 2. Reduces oil production. 3. Use products that contain less than 5%. Too much is damaging. 4. Niacinamide supplements are shown to decrease the risks of developing certain types of skin cancer. 5. Products recommended: Super Pure by Glossier (it also has zinc). Alpha H (weird scents). Skin Ceuticals Metacell Renewing B3 (can be used as a light moisturizer, especially if you leave in a tropical place). Elta MD PM therapy, a moisturizer (but she feels like it sits on her skin only and it has a chalky feeling).

It’s always a red flag when an influencer talks about the formulations instead of talking about their experiences with the products. These influencers don’t know how product formulations work, so they only think that if the active ingredients are low, the product is bad.

Ok so... y'all buggin. TO's niacinimide worked wonders for me because i didnt slather my face with that stuff. I legit used one goddamn drop on my face, with one goddamn drop of their hyaluronic acid and a good amount of water to mix it altogether to help with dilution and spreadability. Then i sealed that shit with moisturiser because you need to be responsible with your juiced-up humectants. This was a fantastic product for an oily girl like me because it stopped my from being an oil slick in the summer. It's not wholly the product's fault it didn't work for you because it was unsuitable for your skin or you didn't figure out to use it properly to suit you with sufficient trial and error. TO's products don't really exist to hold your hand so you're probably better off without it.

I've been using TO Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% for the past year or so and haven't noticed any kind of irritation (and on the contrary I feel like it's helped my skin a lot) - would it be okay to keep using this product if I'm not having any kind of adverse effects? I usually use it once a day. Thanks :)
@doraj79173 жыл бұрын
Would love to get an expert opinion on this as well. Have been using the same product for a year, my skin has improved so much - brighter, smoother, less redness. No irritation, cystic acne I usually get before my period gone, and when I do get the occasional pimple it's small and goes away fast. Before this product I used a moisturizer from La Roche Posay with niacinamide (don't know which %) and it did nothing for me (and I used it for over a year). For reference, I have dry skin with a very oily nose and slightly oily forehead, redness on my cheeks, and when I use products that my skin doesn't like it gets super oily and I break out and I look like a hot mess.

I followed your advice on retinol and at 39 I have less wrinkles than 30. And learning how to accept with grace my incoming jowels. Also sunscreen, thank you for motivating me to be consistent, my skin is so much clearer all the way. @@leonamay8776 You need to look at the ingredients, if there is something there that is irritating you. But if you look at most eye creams, they have pretty much the exact same ingredients as your regular moisturizer only more watered down.

@@Kay2be2mr I have never found out what it is (I've tried!). I've managed to find the la roche Posay for sensitive eyes but all the other ones from the brands somehow manage to irritate my eye. I gave The Ordinary serum few tries, but I have similar feelings to Shereene. Feels a bit too heavy for my combination, acne prone skin... Now I prefer to look for Niacinamide in my moisturizers (where this ingredient is usually just a "supporting" ingredient, not always even highlighted). My favorite ones are CosRX "AC Collection Lightweight Soothing Moisturizer" or iUNIK "Centella Calming Gel Cream".
