Laser hair removal was the greatest thing I've done for myself as far as physical appearance goes. I was like a wolf between PCOS, making myself too thin when I was younger and my dad being a Spanish Jew. I took money out of my 401K, spent thousands, and now my shower time is a few minutes. My pale skin is smooth as butter and it makes me feel euphoric. I love body hair on others, but for me it made me feel depressed. It is permanent and is such a time saver.

Amen! I just got the new ULike 10 device and I'm so ready to use it. The longevity of my showers is due to the amount of shaving I have to do every time. So, I'm looking forward to not having to spend so much time on hair removal in the future.
@beetothebop1233 ай бұрын
It's definitely not permanent. Hormonal changes will have some of your hair come back, you'll find that out in a couple of years 😂
@stephr76373 ай бұрын
100% I'm a very pale woman with hair that is dark as hell at the roots and on my body, through my teens and early 20s I struggled with trying to shave but finding that the hair was so intense that I either shaved so aggressively that my skin would be red and angry and look horrible, or I'd have stubble. I was so unhappy and lacking confidence that I never wore summer clothes and just baked in sweat pants and leggings. I bought the philips lumea and used as directed and after less than a year my leg and underarm hair was so gentle and faint that I have to shave less than weekly and when I do it doesn't cause any irritation. I can go for weeks without shaving my legs and unless someone got close with a magnifying glass they wouldn't know. It's genuinely changed my life. I hope one day women aren't made to feel ugly with their normal body hair or to spend thousands of pounds making themselves look acceptable, but for those of us living with current norms, IPL/laser is genuinely more cost effective than shaving or waxing for your whole life.

Tell my why if a woman over plucks her eyebrows, it doesn't grow back? Why when I have been plucking chin hairs, they keep coming back and more dense than ever?
@blueseptember21743 ай бұрын
Yes I'd love to know 😅
@IsaRican8103 ай бұрын
I imagine it has to do with the nature of the hair follicles in your eyebrows vs your chin. It might take less time to damage the follicles in your eyebrows from constant tweezing than it does to damage the follicles on your chin from the same. Or maybe eyebrow hair follicles are more sensitive to trauma than other areas of the face. There are also hormonal reasons that may affect hair growth on your chin that doesn’t affect hair growth patterns in your eyebrows.
@cupcake50033 ай бұрын
Because dark chin hair is androgen hair. Androgen hair is due to hormonal imbalance. So no matter how much you pluck, if you don't fix the root cause that is hormones, it's going to come back. And I have heard it gets worse in menopause. Eyebrow hair is not due to hormonal imbalance. Also if your eyebrows are thinning, it may be due to thyroid issues.

You can get that same effect with epilating to be honest. And it is soooo much cheaper. No one can actually see my hair growing back on my legs, I epilated my legs for about 20 years or longer and the hair got so sparse and fine after just a few years.
@bereal82533 ай бұрын
Yes, but epilation is a long, tedious and painful process. Also depends on the person. I've been getting waxed and epilating for 14 years now, still growing hair like a thick forest. You're lucky, like my mother. Her hair doesn't grow back anymore, she waxed for most of her life. But yes, you are correct. Constantly removing hair from the follicle does eventually make it stop growing permanently. I think laser just speeds up this process.

I can highly highly recommend IPL hair removal device if you have dark hair and fair skin, the one that worked for me is Braun silk expert pro 5 (I say that because Dr Idriss has mentioned before that they really vary in effectiveness) 2 years after using it for a couple of months: Hair on legs still gone, I only have soft blonde (vellus?) hair. Underarm hair considerably more sparse, it shaves without shadow. I've noticed that the underarm hair requires more continuous use for me at least. The bikini area doesn't really require continuous use, and there really are only a couple of strays (that are not an issue for me) No shaving itch, no ingrowns. It's everything I wanted. The device still works, however it overheats more quickly, which means it takes a little longer for it to cool down between each flash, so it would now take longer to cover a large surface area. It was so worth the money spent, if my hair were to come back after these 2 years I would just purchase a new one (to save time)

I got laser hair removal on my arms 6/7 years ago. I did around 7 to 8 sessions if i remember correctly (my hair wasn't thick but it was dark since i'm a brunette with very pale skin, which made the hair even more visible) but i didn't go back for the suggested yearly maintenance sessions bc i got tattoos in the meantime and i'm afraid of ruining them. Now i only shave like 4 times A YEAR and a total of like 20 leftover hair per arm grow back thin, super sparse and a lot lighter than before so even if i didn't shave it wouldn't be noticeable. I def recommend it BUT be careful if you have tattoos and please ask your dermatologist before doing it, especially if you have moles!! Make sure that the laser technician covers both with something white so the laser doesn't ruin your tats or damage moles!!!! Other than that laser's kinda expensive but saves you a lot of time and money in the long run. If you feel like you constantly have to shave, def consider it

As a KP girl I am super happy with my choice to get laser. Considering the condition has no cure I would say laser hair removal is the cure in my case 🎉

I have like 3 hair on my legs rn and my last session was 3 months ago. Some body parts it takes months for hair to grow back and they’re so thin and barely noticeable!

I spent $64 for underarms laser. It was the best spending because I shave my underarms like two times a year after that.

Also in laser hair removal... ethnicity also is a factor. That girl on her 15th session lools like she has middle eastern roots... but i dont know.

Mine has lasted over 15 years with NO regrowth. Light skin, dark hair.

I use braun laser at home and I love it. It’s the best thing I’ve ever purchased and used for hair removal.
